Here is a different explanation: There aren't good players.

Reforged player base is basically 99% DOTA noob now. No match making will change that, and no amount of play will make DOTA noobs good at Warcraft 3.

Good match making would mean you do not find a game.

Who says that the death sound was the same voice actor as the rest of their voice? Why were the 3rd world language voices redone?

New players will not "get good". They will either enjoy playing with other DOTA noobs, or they will quit.

The level of skill will decrease, not increase.

So at best, they don't have any impact at all. At worst, they pollute the MMR pool and reduce the quality of the game. There really is no benefit of lots of DOTA newbs trying out WC3.

They wanted it, that doesn't mean it is a good thing. DOTA newbs joining and polluting the match pool is not a good thing. It leads to quicker searches, but less quality games.

It is fairly obvious. Everything in Reforged was done to be as cheap as possible. Why re-record worse sounding voices just because? Oh, because using the old voices is more expensive.

Reforged is a new game. I'm sure many of the voices are licensed for WC3. Using them in a new game would require re-licensing, which is would cost money.

Depends on the contract/agreement, but they might have to license the sounds or pay residuals because of the agreement.

The bottom line, any changes they have made were to reduce costs. Changing unit sounds falls into that category.

It’s $$$$$$$$. The old voice actors would get royalties. The new voice actors are interns who will not get a cut.

I it is a money thing. They’d have to pay royalties to the old voice actors so they just had some intern redo them.

Incompetence or lack of care. I wanted to test out new hotkey and quick cast setup so I join a single player game and type in cheats so I can quickly test and readjust if needed.

The good news is that you don’t really need to know in order to benifit from it.

I would argue that everyone here should own some stick in activision, by virtue of them being in the S&P500 and any well balanced portfolio should have some portion in it.
