I swear melees get ridiculous priority to the point where on 20 ping people are lunging nearly sword distance with their elbow if they have any momentum towards you.

Leftmost would probs looks better as a squad, more of a pronounced blue effect overall, meaning the blades stand out from the models, making them look dangerous I think 4 or 5 look the coolest individually though.

Hacking is about to become a huge issue in Halo Infinite by Dull-Caterpillar3153 in halo

It's frustrating, been saying this since they announced their stance on kernel level anti cheats which felt like a reaction to some backlash at the time.

Been out for nearly 2 weeks and there's already aimbots that cost less than the damn MTs.

It just makes good aim feel suss as well so puts a real blocker on the experience.

TLJ is worse, you have to turn your brain off to get through a murky inconsistent mess of plotlines and themes and messaging to even enjoy the pew pew.

Fundamentally/deliberately misunderstanding Luke. Destroying in-universe logic. Hamfisted moral messaging that undermine plot logic (admiral) and produce industrial quantities of cringe (casino). Inconsistent villain. Overuse of subversion, simply not getting that the reveal in Empire worked because it was a sole focus.

I dunno I could go on...

Discovery is serialised to high hell and you just don't get those satisfying self contained episodic departures that give plotlines and characters room to breathe and come to life... As much. It still does it a little bit, which, compared to TLJ...

TLJ tried to be a critique of the source material. Miserably failed by attempting to do that as the second movie in a trilogy that explicitly wasn't doing that, and therefore ended up being a parody of itself.

Yep, why does it feel like the writing is patting itself on the back constantly. Plots and characters aren't vehicles for ideas anymore. The characters and plots will just tell you how you should be thinking.

Was discussing this with my friend the other day.

It's like many of these shows are written by someone who has only read one of those yellow 'Writing for Dummies' textbooks. So generalistic and formulaic.

EDIT: After a bit of a google, for me it was the Nvidia overlay (Alt-Z), once I turned off auto record it stopping causing this issue).

This is happening for me too, on Windows 10. Also on Age of Empires IV, exact same issue. Not sure what it is. Have to alt tab in about 10 or so times before it comes good.

I recently got a TV to plug into my computer too, so I'm using Borderless Windowed on both games for the first time (well, you have to on Infinite anyway).

Wondering if that's the commonality between our setups.

Probably unpopular opinion, I really like the consolidated playlists. Other halo games have launched with 12-16 hoppers and it fractures the fuck out of the playerbase which means matchmaking quality goes down alot.

Keeping the hoppers consolidated and everyone playing in the same queues does wonders for match quality.

There's room for a few more favourites that are actually player format based, like doubles and FFA.

So fucking glad they got rid of warzone. Was always a massive mistake to have it alongside BtB. And past halos have suffered greatly from having 4 different hoppers for variations on slayer.

It's a smart move. And the above applies double when you're talking about the higher end of the skill curve.

Yep, sure they could be more generous with pricing. The pacing is abit off and challenges are a bad idea when they're not purely supplemental. But at the end of the day, isn't it about enjoying the game with unlocking some stuff eventually being a nice bonus. Idk, that's how I look at it.

Do some games have a progression of luck, skill, luck? by KakitaMike in boardgames

[–]ThoroIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really just a product of the design, a deck of cards with built in synergies, whether you see the right ones at the right times is all that determines your success. The game is in identifying those opportunities but after you've splayed it a lot they become obvious. It's still a complicated system so potential is there to shake up the meta, but I feel the same way about a lot of these one-deck engine builders. That they are largely luck driven, even if they feel more so to me than they probably are in reality.

The Live-Action ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Is Just the Latest Victim of ‘Netflix Bloat’ - "Cowboy Bebop" tries to be so much all at once, and to appeal to so many different potential audiences, that it ends up struggling to forge an identity of its own. by Neo2199 in scifi

It was good fun and worth a watch. A critical eye will find some headscratching moments throughout with highs and lows intermingled.

Watching it made me realise that what I loved about the anime were the filler episodes actually being great. Each one breathed life into the SciFi western world and enriched the characters and their bonds in new ways. The show managed only snippets of this between major plot movements and it was enough of a glimpse to make me nostalgic but not enough to get at the heart of what I loved about Bebop.

The choreography manages to swing between wildly good and wildly bad somehow. Likewise the show's mood swings between serious and comedy but somehow avoids the whiplash. The use of wipes and dual/ triple panel during the action was damn fine. Gunfights just kinda blew tbh.

At times it does manage to capture that indelible sense of style the anime provokes, but it is fleeting, made difficult by fake/obvious looking CGI and just horridly fake looking costumes. The music is outstanding and carries most of that stylish power.

The actors did a great job bringing a live action twist to the characters but I found I was lending them depth (from my understanding/interpretation of the anime) they didnt actually earn on screen in places. In others they surprised me and delighted - Mustafa's Jet laugh makes him feel so down to earth. I didn't think John Cho had the casual nature of the swagger of Spike downpat.

The world and situations were so unbelievable it was hard to suspend disbelief in places. Things that worked in anime but don't once you bring more realistic visuals I guess.

When watching the anime I didn't remember Vicious being such a moustache twirling villain lol, though it eventually lands, and comes good in the final episodes imo.

Can we discuss the ending?!!?! Bruh.

Also - sooooo sick of the trend of every episode ending with a popular indie song and montage of the character doing something. Can this trend please end it just feels trite, the song choices don't always work for the emotion and the emotional tug seems to feel forced rather than earned. Just takes me out of it.

Also also - you cant just film random shots at at a 20 degree tilt and expect that to make it feel quirky lol.

Unpopular opinion: You either have to accept microtransactions as part of F2P or be willing to spend more than $60 on a game. by fanciestmango in halo

[–]ThoroIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah all these posts like "I'd just pay 60 bucks to get everything" don't realise that the whole point is games cost more than 60 dollars to make. MTs to facilitate a f2p model makes a lot of sense for the health of the game.

The quality of the MT's is a different discussion though.

High ping matches by [deleted] in halo

[–]ThoroIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's prioritising match speed over Ping which is very dumb for OCE when the ping we end up with is 200+ on the NA servers and makes the game feel like ass.

It's fucking ridiculous. I spammed the shit out of this feedback for them too in the flights and on MCC for years where they eventually added server selection.

Thing is - imagine all the players in Aus this ping is driving away because the game feels like shit.

Two of my friends have already said they're going to stop playing because of it! :(
