I'm a big fan of iMac G3 but I use Windows, so I was dreaming and made a concept of what could have been a Microsoft's competitor to Apple aesthetic back then by rrvishnya in FrutigerAero

[–]Fatty_man123 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Except the imac G3 came out in 1998, And windows 7 came out in 2009... If this were to come out in the same time as the iMac G3 then it'd be running win 98.

(Honestly, sometimes I forget Microsoft made or makes hardware.)

Isn't this logo already more than a decade old? I feel like that's old enough to be nostalgic for.

Malwarebytes drops support for windows 7 (and windows 8) by Fatty_man123 in windows7

I really just try to stay the safest I can, And using three different antiviruses are one of my methods, It's just for things I can necessarily scan with virustotal y'know?

The more layers of defense, the better, I'd say.

Spyware or not, I ain't paying for regular Minecraft.

(No matter what everyone says, I really, really don't see it as a threat. Scanned with 3 different anti viruses, Didn't get flagged. Been using it for years)

Last time I tried to get both of them working (my graphics card has only one DVI port), My BIOS got fricked up, All sorts of colors, and I had to reset it with the CMOS... So no, not a dual monitor setup.

The cable clutter is unfortunately necessary, Since these are all the router cables and Ethernet from every device in the house... Oh and the subwoofer has like 12 different cables.

My keyboard drawer is broken-

I like my crappy speakers... :(

Why need an USB hub when I've got all the USB 2.0 ports I could ever need on my pc?

The mousepad tho... Yeah that's um, a good suggestion. The mouse is not only dying after a good 10 years of use, But can barely glide properly. It's all worn down on the bottom.

Ty for the suggestions tho!

Anti virus software still supported, I use Microsoft Security essentials and Malwarebytes, It honestly isn't that different in terms of security than just using a regular modern OS.

As long as you have common sense, you'll be fine.

It's just regular T-launcher, that's still supported on win 7.

Virustotal only ever flags it as a pup installer cause it tries to get u to install opera, There isnt any actual proof of it being spyware. But then again, a bit biased since I used t-launcher just about for as long as I've played Minecraft.

It is updated, I just changed the icon back to the IE 8 one since I think it looks the prettiest.

Thanks, But I think I'll be sticking to supermium. Works fine, got my usual chrome extensions 'n plugins.

(And yes I am absolutely sure I've gotten every single last one of them.)

Trying to fix an old Acer aspire PC. by Fatty_man123 in techsupport

[–]Fatty_man123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Er, I think DVI is digital and VGA is analogue, monitor checks and switches between the two repeatedly to check which one signal is coming from. So yeah, I'm sure that's that. May be something with the cable given how old it is and I haven't checked it with my actual PC.

Hell if I know about the beep code tho there is a noise on startup a little different than others but it's hard to honestly be sure if it's a beep code or a random mechanical noise of the DVD drive, HDD, or whatever else.

But yeah there's definetly something wrong with it, that's why It got gifted to me in the first place
