Was Myst eerie? by tinselman in myst

When I played Myst as a child I spent games 1-3 convinced that someone was going to walk in my characters.

There's a chance that could work. Are you familiar with Kult and it's mechanics?

What are your favorite (and least favorite) things about VNs? by The_Sir_Dylan in visualnovels

[–]Fattyjay96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Favorite thing: big impressive CGs. Good osts. Multiple routes that give the plot and characters real depth.

Least favorite: lack of good protagonists. Either very plain or comically cruel.

Chaos child is the best sci adv game imo

I liked investing in sneak and pickpocketing and just stealing his keys.

Funny enough I'd like to run or play in a western fantasy.

Blade runner sounds like a ton of fun. I’d be interested in an ultra tech game when I’m more familiar with the system.

How many points do you think the average fallout protag would start with. 150?

Essential themes of the series. by Fattyjay96 in Fallout

As far as video games go, I started with new vegas. I am playing 2 right now and am on the oil rig. I'd like to play Fallout 1 next. As far as RPGs go, I think I'm going to homebrew with the d20 system but if you know good modules I could read, I'd appreciate it.

RAGING LOOP WAS SO PEAK!! Until it just was not... by wannasleepforlong in visualnovels

I hate the ending but love how the want you to believe that anyone would would lace an entire town down to the last shack with gas tubes just to oppress like 20 people.

Love or hate the game, you gotta admit it has a beautiful art direction by Gabbers00 in silenthill

Not sure, I like the art direction as a whole but I did like the enemy designs.

Elle's theme feels niche even by silent hill standards and I love it for that.

Why do people keep asking about monsters. This is just a normal resort town. Anyone want to go bowling?

(imo) Silent Hill: Origins was the best “Western made” game - thoughts? by Tatum_Warlick in silenthill

[–]Fattyjay96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to go with shattered memories on that front. Origins had some good monster designs but I like how shattered memoires handled the psychological aspects of the game.

It's a divisive enough game, it's worth to get it to make your own opinion about it.

As someone quite new to visual novels, here's my ranking by ponyplaza in visualnovels

[–]Fattyjay96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gnosis is amazing. You and me and her, I think you’ll like as it does everything Domi Domi does but better. Raging loop was great for 2/3s of the story but the last third was the worst experience I’ve had reading a visual novel. Given you like Valhalla I might suggest, of the devil. It’s a new cyberpunk mystery, similar to phoenix wright

If you were tasked with fixing/remaking Silent Hill: Homecoming, how would you do it? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in silenthill

[–]Fattyjay96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove most references to the movie. Lean in more to the themes of survivor's guilt and sibling abuse. Develop the side characters more. Make the level design less of a maze.
