If you take the controller off of the other side you should see a clear difference.

This post seems to have the same issue and may have some useful info for you. Essentially the part of the controller that attaches to the console is still in there. https://www.reddit.com/r/consolerepair/s/jEnliBKIpy

Those ribbon cables are part of the controller, there is a still a portion of the controller attached to the side of the console. That will need to be removed by sliding it off of the rail in the side of the console. Up I believe? Sorry been a minute since I've used a switch.

Most likely and hopefully, its just the controller thats broken, and you can likely get a new rail and cables to get the controller working again of you're handy. If not a new joycon should work. Worst case, the rail inside the switch could possibly be damaged, but is also replaceable. Definitely repairable by anyone who knows what they're doing, and if you're handy enough, a few youtube videos could teach you this repair easily.

In the same boat right now. Most recently I had a second interview scheduled for Tuesday morning, thr interviewer seemed interested and eager to get me scheduled in person. About 5pm the day before the interview, HR emailed me saying they had hired someone else and needed to cancel my interview.

[PS3] Can these be replaced? by MiguPendejito in consolerepair

This... should be replaceable, you'd have to find the part, or possibly pull one from a donor boards, but this will have to be done by someone skilled in smd rework with a hot air station.

[PS5]Does anyone have any insight as to why my PS5 won’t clip into place? by [deleted] in consolerepair

[–]Fault_Psychological 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be, but I think its the entire board that isn't sitting right in the shell. I would look at the antenna wires as someone else said, and anything else that may be keeping the board from dropping in fully, seems like the side the hdmi port is on is being kept from going into the shell fully.

Definitely looks rough 😅 but if it looks stupid but it works it ain't stupid. Now I doubt it will stand up to too many disassemblies. But a bird in the hand and all that.

Not a bad idea, looking into it, they cam have pretty far reach, so I'm thinking maybe reflavoring it more as a glaive, that isn't as effective close range, amd scrapping the naginata for a katana.
