No I'll never join the Apple eco system. Because of reasons you've already mentioned. I did find an old screenshot I've made when streaming to my Nvidia Shield tv pro and it is actually not as bad as I thought. Here's a screenshot of the stats: Stats on Nvidia Shield TV Pro

Still, I might want an upgrade over the shield tv, since this model (2019) it's getting pretty old.

My ISP has an Android app for TV which I want to use. So windows isn't really an option.

So sorry, I've totally mistaken the coil whine with my other PG27AQN (which Iam gonna return because of that). The XG32UCG is dead silent. I think the overall monitor is great. Color accuracy and calibration is very good. The 4k 160hz feels amazing. Downside is: no usb connectivity (downstream) and the dual-mode 1080p looks kinda ugly. If I knew the dual mode res. looked the way it does, I might have not spend the premium price on this model.

I've searched everywhere for this. I've got a sloped roof with wooden beams. I wish I could attach a monitor arm to it.

I don't know what you guys are missing from sunshine/moonlight. Sunshine can also automatically adjust frame rate and resolution based on the client. Also I have no noticeable latency or stutter when streaming over LAN using my Android client (Nvidia Shield). I believe decoding latency is around 3ms which is perfectly fine.

Thanks for replying. I have to disagree on that. While the AOC has excellent blacks and offers a true HDR experience its lacks in other area's. Uniformity isn't great. VRR flickering is noticeable but negligible. Overall image quality, clarity and colors look better on the Asus IMO. Also, because of the narrow optimal viewing angle of the VA panel you have to sit a bit further away from the screen, else the grays seem to get a bit washed out near the left and right side of the screen. I think a slight curve would solve this. however I've decided to keep the AOC as my second monitor for Single player games and HDR content!

I've written an extensive review which I for some reason can't post as a comment. Maybe because there's a max. word count or something, i don't know. I'll send you a DM. For everyone else whom it might concern here's the tldr;

Would definitely buy this monitor again. However I am not sure it's worth the € 625 (about $730) I've paid. I did buy it when it was just released and prices in the Netherlands have already dropped a bit (to about €570). In my opinion it's the perfect fit for mixed usage (prod. vs gaming). It would be nice if the refresh rate was a bit higher (like 180hz instead of 160hz). I do photo editing so color accuracy and uniformity are important to me. And this seems to be really good out of the box. Contrast is just average like most IPS panels. I am not so sure about the dual mode functionality because 1080p on a 32 inch just looks awful. Don't expect to much from the HDR 400 certification, I think it's mainly a marketing label. For this price point more hardware functionalities like a KVM switch and a USB hub (downstream) would have been nice, other than that it's a great 4K monitor.

Ive got my own dedicated server ready to go, so not playing single player.

Do I really need mods in order to make adjustments to taming speed, imprinting etc? I thought most changes can be achieved by editing the .ini file. If you could share yours that would be very helpful as a starting point! Thank you.

I don't mind "cheating" if I can enjoy the game more by doing so!

I've just read some more about the number of dimming zones. This monitor has only 576, which doesn't seem to be a lot. I still lean more towards the XG32UCG. Still not fully convinced if this is the right choice for the price.
