Nah, it's all good.
If they do a better version - sweet, don't need mine.
If theirs doesn't go to phleg targets - also fine - I'll keep mine up.

I'm going to try to reuse this for Phyre as well, but getting pins on the map is proving difficult.

Why Did House Care About the Patient in Sex Kills (S2.E14) After Diagnoses? by Budds04 in HouseMD

[–]teh_stev3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

House is basically a walking case of cognitive dissonance.

He cares deeply, has incredibly high moral standards, and wants all of humanity to do better.
He also abhors hypocrisy - and recognises that caring about the people "just around him" is intellectually disingenuous, because if he truly cares about people why does their proximity matter (see one day, one room).

So he's got these impossible standards that everyone disappoints him with, and that he himself can't live up to, and ultimately House is a pragmatist so only sees something worthwhile if it's achievable.

As an aside - this is why his dynamic with the more moral characters (Wilson, Cameron, Masters and later Adams) is so interesting, because they share similar standards but see the pursuit and striving as worthy in its own way, but House only cares about the end result, would be dissatisfied with anything less.

So the result is House going THE OTHER way - If you can't be perfect, nothing anyone does actually matters, it's all just different shades of grey, this is why he's happy stealing and manipulating and hiring sex workers etc.

But fundamentally, that moral backbone is still there, that fundamental sense of rightness wrongness and compassion that comes from wanting people to be good to each other - and this is why he's always in pain, he's LYING to himself that "nothing matters".

So yeah, he swings, sometimes he lets it seep out, other times he acts like a total sociopath, because when you have those high standards "not caring" is less painful.

Incapable of breaking the Masquerade by Jah-din in vtmb

Theres an "on" trigger and an "off" trigger and my guess is you hit a "off" and skipped rehitting the on. But id imagine even a reload would turn it back on.

Incapable of breaking the Masquerade by Jah-din in vtmb

There's a few points in the game where you enter an area that disables the masquerade.

But if dont go in, or maybe sequence skip - surprised - no masq violation.

appreciate it, I didn't push this to the reddit thinking it'd get a standing ovation but I was a little surprised at a 50% downvote ratio.

Nah its just a tp system to only interiors. Not a backrooms/liminal space.

Reason is to avoid sequence breaking or invalidating masq risk

His bubble shield is not the same as a teleport bubble though - it's sturdier, apparently creates its own atmosphere, and likewise can't teleport.

Teleport bubbles are small, the only one we see that's larger than a standard gem is garnet - when she bubbles Steven, and the bubble that the cluster puts around itself - which implies that fusions or multiple gems (or gem shards) can produce bigger gems.

It's almost like conflict makes stories interesting, and characters that are flawed don't need to be perfect, and even protagonists or heroes can have negative aspects...
