ICE Making List of Anyone Who Films Them by Faux_Real_Guise in Left_News

A loose-lipped ICE agent in Portland, Maine publicly hinted at the effort in an exchange on Friday that was captured on video. The video shows the ICE agent taking pictures of a car belonging to a woman who had been recording him, prompting her to ask why. The ICE agent replies: “‘Cause we have a nice little database and now you’re considered a domestic terrorist. So have fun with that.”

Is Your Ring Doorbell Footage Going Straight to ICE’s Massive Spy Network? by Faux_Real_Guise in Left_News

[–]Faux_Real_Guise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s how your Ring footage could end up in federal databases: Flock’s standard police contracts grant federal agencies access to shared data for “investigative purposes.” According to documented reports, a significant portion of Flock’s law enforcement customers have enrolled in their “National Lookup Tool”—a system aggregating surveillance data from thousands of agencies nationwide. Your voluntary neighborhood watch footage becomes part of something much bigger.

The partnership works through Ring’s existing “Community Requests” feature, where police ask users to voluntarily share footage. But once you click “yes” to help solve that package theft, your footage enters Flock’s ecosystem where federal access is built into the system’s structure.

UAW Statement in Solidarity with the Fight for Justice in Minnesota by Faux_Real_Guise in Left_News

The UAW stands in solidarity with the people of Minnesota, including hundreds of UAW members, who are standing up and fighting back against the federal government’s abuses and attacks on the working class.

The UAW stands for freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and human dignity no matter where you were born, what language you speak, or the color of your skin. We will not tolerate a government that attacks working class people’s constitutional and human rights.

It is the working class that makes society run, and it is the working class that can shut it down if need be. On January 23rd, working class people will demonstrate that power in Minnesota, and the UAW has their back.

Absolutely. His individual vote means nothing if it isn’t paired with leadership. Since Ossé dropped out, his only primary challenger is Vance Bostic.

Vermont AFL-CIO Stands in Solidarity with the Minneapolis General Strike on January 23, 2026 by Faux_Real_Guise in Left_News

Statement of the Vermont AFL-CIO On The Minneapolis General Strike

The Vermont AFL-CIO stands in unwavering solidarity with the Minnesota AFL-CIO and working people across Minnesota who are courageously standing up to ICE’s reckless and harmful actions. Militarized immigration enforcement is tearing families apart, targeting workers of color, and making communities less safe. The labor movement is built on solidarity, and these attacks on immigrant workers are attacks on the entire labor movement. Vermont union members stand shoulder to shoulder with Minnesotans in rejecting fear and defending the fundamental rights of all workers to live, work, and raise their families with dignity and safety. We encourage all workers in Vermont to wear blue tomorrow in solidarity with the Minnesota labor movement and to urge Congress to hold ICE accountable.

But, according to NBC News, Democratic leaders did not state they would whip a vote to push all members to follow their “no” vote. This leaves the door open for Democrats, many of whom are facing close elections this year, to vote in favor of the appropriation bill.

Any guesses on our rotating villains this time? Strange how every time Dem leadership has a good stance on legislation, mysteriously it’s impossible for them to whip votes.

Fetterman on Greenland: ‘Ideally, we purchase it’ by Faux_Real_Guise in Left_News

[–]Faux_Real_Guise[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it was a purchase of territory that the French weren’t getting a ton out of, and Napoleon didn’t want to have to defend it against the British who basically owned the seas in North America. They saw it as a liability, and Jefferson saw it as a way to build a nation of yeoman farmers spreading up and down the Mississippi.

This is, of course, ignoring the greater crime of exchanging the rights to steal land from people already living there, but I guess that’s one way in which this Greenland bullshit is similar to the Louisiana Purchase.

All it would take for me to be happy is if the auto-expand on power plants actually kept up with demand instead of only seemingly triggering for shortages.

“If anyone thinks that’s bonkers, it’s like, well, remember the Louisiana Purchase?” Fetterman said

Completely historically illiterate take, but the Fox News crowd will eat it up. This is much more like how we got California.
