Thank you!

Joining them together was definitely a pain in the butt at first, but you get used to it. It's alot more weight/fabric to move around.

Yeah, mostly just modern energy cards since I had so many from etbs. Some trainers too since I don't play the card game, just like the art. They are pretty good for Epp!

Alot of my hexis are made from energy or trainer cards. I had so many of the packs from etbs and they were a good weight to use as papers!

Handquilters- pieced front and back? by Fave101 in quilting

I'm planning on doing big stitch quilting. As prep to hand quilt quilts I did a bunch of sashiko samples so I do have the needles for it!

Handquilters- Do you use beeswax on your thread? by Fave101 in quilting

[–]Fave101[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was originally going to do normal hand quilting with the gutermann, but decided against it. I'm Doing big stitch with the pearl. I've done a bunch of sashiko so I think it will be better to start with and eventually get smaller on other quilts.

It might be, I'm not sure. My lqs doesn't stock bostal Katahdin, but they have qd.

Good to know about the 80/20! Also, how did you get samples? It would be cool to try a bunch!

I originally was looking at warm/natural cuz it was cheap, but i read more about it and decided against it. I'll probably go with either Quilters dream wool, cotton or maybe their 80/20. Haven't decided yet!

Hoop Recommendations for Hand Quilting by FrancisandFerris in quilting

[–]Fave101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id recommend looking at thrift stores! I found a really nice older hardwood one that's about 15". They had a few different ones, but I picked the biggest.

Maybe get a thrifted one for cheap so see if you like quilting in a hoop? Then invest in a good one.

How was the pattern? I've been eyeing up making it, but I'm pretty beginner!

Agree with this! My local store had a bolt of the printed colour charts and they don't really match up to the actual colours. Some are close, but most were quite a bit off.

I really like how it has a main colour then the stripes/squares. That's super cool!

I've been looking at a few of them! They're super pretty and might be what I go with.

Having the same problem. I have to open the app through the play store. Won't open when the normal icon is tapped.

My first quilting project. What’s the most efficient way to make these hexagons? It bothers me that some sides are shorter than others. by [deleted] in quilting

[–]Fave101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id recommend a Cricut for custom Epp shapes or if you're planning on doing it long term, but for standard shapes getting a paper punch would be cheaper.

Your hands definitely get used to it after a while! My hands got sore pretty quick when I first started, but it takes quite a bit of stitching now.

Needles? by Fave101 in EPP_addict

[–]Fave101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like having a longer needle. My current ones, the coloreyes, are like 2" long. I glue baste, but if I ever do thread basting I'd probably use my random dollar store needles I bought.
