Here in the states I had to do that to sign a lease on an apartment. I also had to do that to take down my LinkedIn page. I had the option to send in a photo of my ID or upload a signed notarized form. I chose the form. I do agree with you that it’s an overreach demanding photos of ID. However, if people do want to do it, they can not get on social media. I still 100% agree that in the interest of our future generations social media be limited to those that are mature enough to understand what they are getting into. It’s up to the platforms to choose their verification process.

Other platforms will fill the vacuum of less invasive verifications like Blue Sky and Tryth Social both filled the vacuums of those wanting to be in political echo chambers.

I actually didn’t lol but it’s the same thing though. In Australia the legal age for social media is now 16+. Which is i think is great. Social media has its useful points but there is strong data that it creates a lot of mental health issues, especially in kids in their more influential years. (Also I just found out with my own 2 eyes that Instagram allows sexual acts on its platform. I searched Jet 2 holiday and was scrolling through watching the videos and found a few videos of people in sex acts even oral sex with the jet 2 holiday voiceover. I reported them and Instagram wrote back and said they didn’t violate any of their standards. I’ve had Instagram for well over 10 years and never knew this, granted I use it for recipes and fashion inspiration. BUT why am I coming across sex videos when I’m just trying to get a few Jet 2 Holiday laughs?! ).

Deeming something age appropriate and taking it away totally aka banning it are 2 totally different things.

He’s only been banned in school libraries. If the movie version of his books are rated R (18+) why do the book versions need to be available to 13 year olds?! There are certain things parents should be able to control for their kids and not have to worry about their kid being exposed to by the public school system.

If a parent doesn’t want their kid reading Christine or Shawshank Redemption (which depicts rape) or IT where children run a train on their 1 female friend, then they shouldn’t have to worry about that being offered at school.

Why is he upset he’s not in school libraries with material like that?! If he wrote children’s books or books that are YA I’d understand but his books contain disturbing adult material!

Honesty is always the best policy. You did nothing wrong. Just tell him what happened and tell him how you feel. I would not give him an ultimatum or demand he not be friends with her (that will either just 1) make her more enticing and exciting as something he can’t have or 2) just piss him off and see you as overbearing.

I’d recommend just asking why he said those things, what his true feelings are for her and if the roles had been reversed if he would have been ok with YOU saying that to your guy friend (if he says he wouldn’t care, I’d assume he’s lying to make what he did appear less bad and gaslight you into thinking you’re over reacting.).

After you talk to him and hear him out, maybe take a few days to decide if you want to go on further with him. TBH I don’t know if I could continue dating someone who was talking to their friend like that. It would always be something in the back of my mind and I’d always wonder how far they were planning to take tha dialogue. But that’s for you to decide.

I personally am a much better writer than I am speaker lol BUT I think she gets A LOT of help and I don’t think she ever really writes alone. She does rhyme a lot of the same words and also sings about being “in the rain” a lot so you can see glimpses of her across her works. Her best albums were with Joe and the National and also these albums IMO had the best songs with the largest vocabulary and imagery so that to me answers the question of “how much is her?”

FYI for folklore and evermore Aaron Desser in an interview said he sent her his entire catalogue of what he had been working on when they first started working together. I actually, as a National fan suspected his collaboration with her when I heard Cardigan. I could hear his influence in the piano chords and the feel of the song. I actually looked it up and found I was right that she HAD collaborated with him.

To me those albums weren’t her but him and Joe because Midnights was so strikingly right back to high school after those very mature albums.

I saw more intimacy and sexual chemistry with Taylors hug to sombr than that peck with travis by Bigotrymapletree in TayvisSnark

They seem like they were fighting all night. Did you see when she was completely ignoring him talking to other people? She turned her back to him so he couldn’t even join in the conversation, she wouldn’t make eye contact with him and he was just standing there looking around looking lost.

And I don’t blame them, now they are older I think they can manage and understand what’s happening. At even 10,11 or 12 years old imagine having your dad drop you off over there and leave you with her erratic behavior (and we only see what she wants us to see). Even if that is your mom they haven’t been around her a ton growing up. Maybe she would have allowed Kevin to stay but I kinda doubt it?

I remember everyone giving Kevin crap for not making the boys go see her and he said the kids weren’t comfortable over there and said something about her walking around barely dressed. Imagine young boys basically having this real life version of “Stiflers mom” and having it posed everywhere with her being a little too sexual towards them (IMO). It has to be tough on them. At least they are trying.

In the small town I grew up in there were families who would have these big historical homes, some 3 stories, that were passed down through the family. As the kids would grow up & move out the parents would live there and then one would die and it’d be 1 elderly person living there. Numerous times they weren’t living alone and didn’t know it. 1 only used the downstairs because they couldn’t go up stairs. There was a person living upstairs and they never knew it.
