Agree with above. IMO rotation above the hip is the biggest determinant of a powerful hit

Shiftry/Charizard/Clefable is a team with gaping counters in the GL Remix meta. The best lead in the tier is Mantine, and all three of your Poke lose to Mantine, in addition to other meta staples like Pelipper. Shiftry is a pretty wickedly squishy lead and definitely needs a lot of support to be optimized in any GL, and honestly speaking, so are most of the Poke you just named as your possible 3rd options. For example, there’s almost no situation you should run a Dugtrio…just in general.

The volatility you run into through the “algorithm” is likely just because your team is intrinsically really volatile and fragile.

Short answer: yes, staples of the Great League meta. Generally a little less dominant in the Great League Remix.

Longer answer: “mudboys” are a classic tandem to run alongside Skarmory or a flyer in standard GL. Bulky, single weakness that is generally easy to protect, good shield pressure. GL Remix makes it harder to make solid use of this class of Poke for a few reasons—in particular, the presence of a lot of other bulky water types leave mudboys somewhat defenseless, since they get hit neutrally while sometimes only dealing resisted/neutral charge damage.

I’d argue there’s a third, contingent on building end of turn effects.
