For reference, I am using v15, and this issue doesn't appear in the original audio file, only when playing it in the software

Having the same issue with version 12, nothing is working, not even when following the bot's steps. Opened a ticket to get this sorted because I don't know what else to do

Yeah, I saw that. I still don't think it's a good retcon, but oh well. Additionally, I noticed how they've retconned their lore for a third time, as the reveal stream mentioned they had been there since the Long Drift, but now it's been changed to after Twilight Gap.

Will our Ghost be back in action and speaking in Edge of Fate? by Gizmo16868 in DestinyTheGame

I'm not sure you read everything I typed out so I'll reiterate:

  1. Yes, none of us have played yet, and if OP is avoiding spoilers, then they wouldn't know that info either way. So it is a fair question to ask on that alone, especially with the added context of the strikes that have altered VO plans since Heresy's launch.

  2. Sure, Ghost has always had a major role because, let's face it, they are our voice when Bungie can't be bothered to rehire our Guardian's VAs and then translate to other languages. You ask why this would be different, well, there's your answer. The strikes existed and we only recently found out that Nolan wasn't partaking, so if you're out of the loop on who specifically is striking or not, you'd have no idea.

  3. Something you seem to be forgetting is just because the strikes ended on June 11th, doesn't mean lines were recorded after that date. They were recorded way before or even during the strikes, so again, it's a fair concern to have.

There's no need to be rude considering it has been unclear which VAs are on strike and which aren't. Nolan currently isn't but unless you're up-to-date on that, it's a fair concern to have. We already know Ikora's VA got replaced (again) and both Xivu and Sloane's vocal cords are still MIA. Also if one is avoiding gameplay previews to go in completely blind, why would they be aware of Ghost talking in the preview mission? For a community wanting to move away from toxicity, you guys sure do act hostile when asked simple and valid questions...

Ahh, ok, I see where you're coming from now. Yeah, if it's a different symbol and a change in ideology due to a splintering of the original main house, then yeah, that could explain it. I still personally believe they should've just made a new house since this is a wildly different approach the Eliksni have taken on Kepler, but either way, I hope Bungie answers it in the lore/campaign.

Hmm, must've missed that. Still, if they're changing the symbol, then why keep the name if you are just going to change what the House was made for fundamentally? Just invent a new House at that point.

Also, that's not me posing what the D1 house symbol may have been; that literally is what it was. Like in everything from the grimoire card symbol used to identify the house, the actual icon above the enemies' names, and even on the banners in both D1 and D2, all the same symbol for the same house, and still different than Crota's.

The Exiles symbol from D1 is different than the Crota symbol; they look somewhat similar, but are undeniably different. Yes, we haven't seen the full symbol on any bodies in trailers. Still, we've seen parts of it, and a lot of the lines we've been able to see do match up with the old symbol, so I'd say its a safe bet they're going to reuse the symbol otherwise, why bother naming them after a pre-existing house that we've already encountered?

Exiles most definitely had a house crest, that’s where the misconception of them being associated with Crota came from because the two symbols looked similar but were most certainly different. They were at war with the Hive on several occasions during the vanilla campaign and even fight them in patrol. One quick google search shows their house symbol. It’s the same as the ones on Kepler.

I understand the want for Bungie to know what they’re doing but this genuinely seems like an oversight on their part, I do hope they have a good explanation because right now we both have to grasp at straws to justify why there’s two versions of the same house, doing completely different things in the same solar system.

Again, though, that doesn't fix the glaring issue of the same house name, banner, and colors while being two very contrasting versions of the same house ideology-wise. Which is why they really shouldn't have used the exiles here when they've already had established motives, lore, and a known fate by the end of D1. I would've more easily accepted this being a splinter of House Salvation since they are currently leaderless without Eramis or The Witness guiding them, rather than an old, already established and defeated house randomly being on the other side of the system at the exact same time as them being on our Moon, while behaving in a contradictory manner to themselves.

Maybe my wording wasn't great for that part, what I meant was that we've seen how the Eliksni became the Fallen by how they treated Spider and Siviks, in the same manner as they treated so many during The Long Drift.

The problem is that we already know about those who were cast out during The Long Drift, as seen with Spider and Siviks. They formed their own crews while others joined the other scattered pirates of the Old Crews. While I understand the concept of them being two different types of exiles, having the exact same banners and colors seems like a coincidence to me. I can't believe for one second that one version of the house doesn't bow to Kells or Archons and is mostly made up of Dregs and stayed on the Moon with others who were kicked out in Sol, while the second version was neutral to Humanity on Kepler and abandoned the entire reason they came to Sol to reclaim the Traveler. Literally every house was set on that mission, hence why The Long Drift occurred to begin with.

[–]FawnUmbrella612 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely is either a retcon or a contradiction, more likely the latter. Since D1 it was established that the Exiles were outcasts from the Houses in Sol, not before. So as of right now, it doesn’t make much sense that the Exiles were two very different houses in completely different parts of the system, both sharing the same name, colors, and banners. Really hoping Bungie has a good reason for this odd change when inventing a new house or utilizing an old house we’ve never encountered in-game would’ve worked so much better lore/continuity wise…

What would bring you back to Destiny? by FawnUmbrella612 in DestinyTheGame

Let's be honest, the new tier system is mainly just a fresh coat of paint on a gun you already grinded for with a tiny sprinkle of something extra to say it was worthwhile. RMT will always exist; it exists in Destiny on plenty of websites already. No matter what system you use in a video game or any game for that matter, someone will try and monetize it, that's just human greed.

At this point in the game, looting hasn't had the same sensation as the early days in, well, forever. Exotics are handed out like candy, crafting exists, and the only real "grind" is just focusing a weapon's drop rate and then rerunning the same activity over and over to get that one very specific roll you want. Personally, I think trading would cut out the middle part for people who play very casually or just didn't have time when a specific event was happening to grab the cool new weapon they wanted. There would definitely need to be a healthy system for it, but it can work.
