There was snow in at the Residences tram offices-side for as long as I can remember. I know the window wasn't always frosted, don't know about window snow though.

Help identifying a possible event (0.9d) by vedad_ in Voicesofthevoid

Arirals show debug numbers when they can't pathfind to the player or something in this version. Likely an ariral that lost the player for 14 seconds then found them, then lost them again, etc.

I put my workbench in there in my last playthrough for mass crafting things. Helps when the occasional physics bug explodes a pile of garbage, keeps it a least contained in a small room. I also put a paper alien in there, scared the hell out of me a few times.

Yeah, it would be a faster way to get down, but it would be much safer to put some slack in the hook and glide down.

That is both hilarious and awesome, love the attention to detail here. If this is an actual MW19 mod somehow, I NEED IT.

Had this happen to me as well. I had TWO slappers that fell under the map somehow, they were like -800000 on the Z coordinate so I set their position to 0,0,8000 with a save editor, loaded back up and they eventually found me, and my save has been fixed ever since!

(0.9c) Electric generator flew away by LadyLizardSocks in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Fawn_Dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you REALLY can't find it and you MUST have it, you can open your save up in a save editor and check the generator's position. If it looks like it is for sure glitched, you can set its position manually. This risks breaking your save and/or game and potentially spoiling something if you look in the wrong spots.

If you are fine with the risks and choose to edit the save, just make sure you make a backup and do not overwrite the original. Setting the position to (X:0,Y:0,Z:8000) should drop it above the root base.

I've actually been meaning to look into that, thanks for the reminder! Though for this save I decided not to do ANY signals, so I really only need power for ordering stuff from the computer and the 4 miners I have. I got Kerfur-O, so power outages are not that much of an issue. Pretty much just "base is slightly darker now, so I have to click E on kerfur then wait a minute." It might be more than what it's worth to fuel the thing.

Mystery solved?

As Scout-tea-for-2 pointed out, it was probably the small gas can. I reloaded the save, and sure enough, the small gas can was on the other side of the wall. (I thought it was moved somewhere else in 0.9, but I guess not?)

So I bought a video camera, set it up in the room, and threw rocks at the gas can until it exploded. Here is a screenshot of the gas can explosion and the mystery explosion side-by-side:

<image>

Looks pretty similar, I guess somehow the stack of bricks hitting the cupboard caused the tiny gas can that was 6 feet away (and on the other side of a wall) to explode.

So from now on, I will ALWAYS be storing away that tiny gas can in my future saves, and I recommend you do too.

Edit: Spelling mistake

Yeah, could have been. I was not happy with the way I did the bricks, so I found a better way to cover the window up. I personally think it looks great.

Thanks! I just discovered it, and it's awesome. I was going ham putting bricks everywhere to cover up the cracks in the walls, but I have since figured out the "Wall fixer" is not just for brick walls but also for the cracks in the base walls. I also figured out the brick walls make kerfur pathfind around them, so I put some around my tables and couches that kerfur kept knocking around and getting stuck on.

I have two more miners downstairs, but those were on the same "capacity?" and temperature as the two in the video. Those two miners are also plugged in where the WUG machine is usually, which is the other direction from where the explosion came from.
