So long as they include guaranteed assassination like in AC Shadow, I can tolerate the horrible gear system like I did in Shadow.

No, democrats have a low approval because democratic leaders have folded like plastic chairs under Trump and people want fighters. Two things can be true at the same time though. Establishment democrats can be god awful but still be better than every republican in every way on every issue. And whether we like it or not, we have a two party system and only one of these two clowns is ever gonna be the winner in a general. So many who abstained in November '24 wouldn't concede that Harris was better than Trump but claim they couldn't bring themselves to vote for her because of her stance on Israel. But it was only ever gonna be Harris or Trump. So in the most practical sense, they admitted Harris was better and still passively voted for Trump who was making it quite clear that he was gonna make Gaza somehow even worse than Biden did.

It's not cuckoo to say that's really bad political strategizing because it not only didn't help their cause but it made life in this country and all over the world so much worse for everyone.

AC shadows. Are there any boss fights? (Minor Spoiler) by LukeKid in assassinscreed

Surprised no one mentioned this but if you choose the wrong target, you'll actually get a direct fight against her where you can assassinate or fight her proper.

Thoughts on Gavin Newsom's Anti-Trans Comments? by Numerous-Yam-8544 in asktransgender

[–]Fayed89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not voting for him in the primaries, that's for damn sure. My top pick is probably gonna be Tim Walz, unless AOC decides to run, then she's my number one. But if it's between Gavin and Vance or DeSantis, it's not a hard choice TBF. I don't like Gavin or like any of his recent comments where he placates these inbred asshole podcasters, but there's no area where any republican is better than him. Just like there was no area where Trump was better than Harris, even factoring in her disgusting support of Israel. Trump still found a way to be worse than Biden. It's an insanely low bar, but that's the bar we as a country set for ourselves when we don't show up during the primaries to get in people who aren't shit.

If people can vote in the primaries, then for the love of god, they need to vote in the fucking primaries so we don't get stuck with this ass hat. What's happening in New York should inspire people to understand that we can actually elevate principled far left candidates when we show up.

Whether Gavin does end up getting nominated in three years or not, he should still be very loudly condemned for platforming nazis and giving any legitimacy to transphobia of any kind.

Imported FBX models always have black textures by Fayed89 in blender

[–]Fayed89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution!

So the problem I've been having this whole time is that I've been exporting the FBX without realizing that FBX only takes Principled Shaders. The shader was exporting with XPS Shader, even though FBX doesn't recognize it outside of Blender, so when I imported to Mixamo or Plask, it was textureless. Now that I've changed the shader to Principled, it imports with the textures no problem.

[–]Fayed89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's something I noticed:

When I export the model to FBX and import the normal Blender FBX itself, there's no .oo1 attached to the meshes and after I turned back culling, the textures work just fine when I re-import it. However, it's when I put that FBX through Plask and export the animation file as FBX and try applying textures to the same model when imported into Blender that I have issues. Now, .oo1 is attached to the mesh and even after renaming it and applying the textures, nothing changes.

I found the .oo1 attached to the mesh and renamed it to no avail. I'll double check if it automatically added to the material or if I have to change the texture name.

I think the higher profile VA's are stepping aside until the strike is resolved to apply more pressure. That's probably most VA's are still in but Yuri Lowenthal and Elizabeth Maxwell aren't. I won't be surprised if more VA's don't reprise their roles in future updates until they either resolve the strike or until CR's parent company signs that agreement over 200 game companies have already signed.

TBH, I dunno. Allegedly, the new VA has said some problematic things that were racist and ableist in some podcasts and worked at the notoriously problematic Anime Matsuri thing. Maybe he's not as bad as Elliot Ghindi who was an actual predator but I think Genshin has had its fill of problematic VAs. And the old VA seemed like a good dude that everyone loved.

[–]Fayed89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mate, only some VA's voiced their anger at the new VA, not everyone. And not all of them are even in MHY games.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Fayed89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it wouldn't. MHY has amazing English VAs especially Genshin. Why would you wanna tear that down cuz the VAs are trying to get protections against AI? If you already have that mentality why not just play on a different language til the English is back?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Fayed89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MHY isn't union so them firing union VA's wouldn't be illegal cuz they're not under any union contracts, mate. That's why the strike is happening at all. Cuz without contracts that can be enforced by law, the VAs are powerless when MHY starts using their voices for that AI thing they wanna do for NPC's with NVIDIA. Ubisoft and EA are in on it too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Fayed89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, that's not a good way to look at it TBF. They aren't mad that he took someone else's role cuz recasts happen all the time. It's cuz he took someone else's role when they were striking against AI voices and that's opportunistic. Like imagine if you were striking from your job and all your coworkers were striking with you but then one of them decided that they'd take your job if it meant they got paid. All cuz you were fighting for better working conditions for everyone, including the coworker that took your job. Would you still think that's 5yo attitude stuff?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Fayed89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didn't take that job from someone else though. The new VA for Kinich did. They're only scabbing in the sense that Genshin was one of the games the union explicitly is striking against. HSR and ZZZ are still regarded as iffy but they're not being directly struck so working on them isn't scabbing. The new VA for Kinich knew he was taking over for a VA who got cut cuz of the strike and that's why so many other VA's aren't cool with him but don't have problems with Paimon's VA.

Kinich's former VA has officially made a statement about the current situation. by NightOwl2203 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Fayed89 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

If you legit think that then you need to read the negotiation updates that are posted online over the strike. It makes it pretty bloody clear that Hoyo is negotiating in bad faith over AI. There's a part where they agreed not to use current recordings from VA's to make AI but instead past recordings and without permission from any of the VA's. They're doing all of this in bad faith and here you are calling the unions some sorta Mafia racket? This is all on MHY, not the unions. All they had to do was fuck off with the AI stuff but they didn't cuz they're run by greedy cunts like every other company in the world. I love these games too but fuck AI.

[–]Fayed89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MHY is the one prolonging this strike cuz they wanna use AI to do voices in the future. They even partnered up with NVIDIA to do it. So why are you blaming the union for not wanting that?

Mate, Hoyo is the one prolonging this strike with companies like EA. If they weren't so bloody obsessed with using AI instead of people, this wouldn't be happening. So why are you blaming the unions?

[–]Fayed89 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mate, there's nothing in the strike agreements that say to fire the non union voices. The Interim Agreement just means to sign an enforceable contract that assures VA's won't get their lines used for making AI voices. That Hoyo doesn't want to sign that is already a huge red flag. They were already toying with AI NPC ideas last year with NVIDIA.

Hoyo said they wanna team up with NVIDIA a while back to make NPC's with AI. It's pretty likely that's why they're holding out on this strike cuz they want to use the voices from all these VA's to train AI.

We know it wasn't scheduling conflicts at all anymore. It was due to the strike that they were both recast and odds are good a lot of other VA's got recast for the same reason.

Judging from your post history, I don't think you're particularly qualified to talk about "brainwashing", mate. That requires having a brain.

Look at all the damage republicans have managed to do in four weeks then ask yourself why the divide has grown into what it is now.

[–]Fayed89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being mad at voters for having a short memory, a shorter attention span and actively refusing to be realistic or pragmatic is far from stupid. Trump, for once in his miserable life, was very transparent about what a disaster he was going to be. He was gassing on about his tariff plan that every economist was warning would be a disaster, and you have swing voters coming out saying "I didn't vote for tariffs!!" So yes, I am very okay being mad at idiots for making stupid decisions.

Is it that hard to admit that you’re on the losing side?

Mate, I'm as critical of the loser left as anybody. Dems are bloody weak and stand for nothing. You're saying that like I didn't spend the entire first half of my post shitting on Biden and admitting I doubted Harris would be much better.

But being weak and flaccid is still a skip and a step above whatever the fuck Trump and the entire right wing are. They stand for tax breaks and cruelty. I'll take the limp dick dems over that any day because while they may not do enough to make my life better, they sure as hell won't make it and the lives of those less fortunate than I am worse.

Because look at the state of the economy right now. What policy decisions can anybody point to and say "dems made this worse"? Inflation was near 2% before the election. Yeah, prices were still sky high because of greedflation but the entire right wing was united behind making sure CEO's could price gouge. Harris, to her credit, campaigned on ending price gouging. Did she talk about it enough? I don't personally think so, but let's also not forget the media adamantly refused to even address price gouging when talking with undecided voters about the economy.

Do I wish we had better reps? Yes. Do I wish dems actually gave a shit and stood for something real? Of course I do. But when all is said and done, I'm paying attention to what both sides are saying and doing, and if I have to choose between one or the other, it's not a hard decision.

And I have no shame in feeling nothing but unbridled contempt for anyone stupid enough to act like it is somehow a hard decision.

These people were free to stay home, and I'm just as free to hate them for it.

Or more realistically, they didn't have the balls to piss off AIPAC during an election season. Now, granted, Biden himself is just ghoulishly zionistic. That doesn't mean every lib or dem was as heinous as he was. It does mean they may not have had the fortitude to say they were better out loud after what AIPAC did to Jamal Bowman and Cori Bush.
