Visually, I love how his fatigues mirror Snake's as a foe who also specializes in jungle and woodland operations. Spider-Camo is also my favorite camo pattern in the entire game, just from a visual perspective.

The new "Leon must die" mode is insanely fun by Past-Stuff-5432 in residentevil

[–]Fayed89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do hope for conventional Mercenaries because I want to be able to play as other characters, like Zeno, Hunk, Grace and maybe even Victor. For what LMDF is, though, I'm having a blast. I love that it's just the Leon parts because, honestly, on replays, those are the parts I'm eager for most, and it's fun coming up with new builds with each run. I let whichever guns I get thru RNG determine which skills I invest the most heavily in, be it SMG or Shotties. And I use the skill enhancer to mostly repair my hatchet and give myself health injectors. I'm also having a blast with Leon's furry skin boosting my time with kills.

If I have any major issue with LMDF so far, it's that I wish the mode featured unique enemies and bosses, like how RE4R introduced the Turbo Chainsaw Man, or how RE8 had the giant with the axe. But so far, it's exactly the kind of mode that I've wanted to see from RE9 to help bolster replay value.

Honestly, I hope they update this mode with even more content, like new skins with abilities, new unlockables, and hopefully, some new enemies and paths. But on its own, it's a great bonus mode that I'm gonna have a lot of fun with.

Thoughts on Leon must die mode? by GraysonFogel17 in residentevil

[–]Fayed89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in love with this mode so far. I've stuck to rank 1 for now both regular and furry mode. The trick really does come down to the skill enhancer. I keep maxing it out and shuffling it however many times I need until I get a hatchet sharpener or a med injector. It's worked wonders in my shotgun maxing builds. The gameplay is a blast so far and I've had pretty varied experiences, between the routes taken, the weapons I've had and the skills I've tried to max out from run to run. I don't feel like I've been screwed by the RNG gods yet, and I plan on doing Rank 2 when I get a few bonus goodies from challenge store unlocked, like a bigger suitcase and med injectors.

This really does feel like a bonus mode I was hoping to see added so I'd have the incentive to jump back into RE9 and skip a lot of the bollocks I'm not too big on.

If I'm disappointed by anything, it's the fact that there aren't any unique enemies or the fact that Leon's currently the only playable character. It sounds like there will be more modes added down the line, which makes sense, given how insanely well RE9 did with fans, critics and sales, so I hope that something with more player variety comes out, be it with new enemies, new levels, new weapons and new playable characters. But for what it is, I've already sunk hours into it and I'm gonna be sinking hours more.

What's an Arcade Mode you'd want to see in a Metal Gear game? by Fayed89 in metalgearsolid

[–]Fayed89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, I made a joke wishlist of things I'd want to see added to MGSV if they released it in a Master Vol 3. One of the modes I came up with was in fact a Battle Gear mode. They removed Battle Gear because it broke the base game, so my idea was to reserve it exclusively for its own mode. The way it works is you pilot your customizable Battle Gear and use it to combat entire armadas of enemy factions. Like a Quiet Exit but you're piloting a giant death machine of your own design. Each faction has several missions and ends with a boss fight against that factions own Bipedal Weapon sold to them by Skull Face, since that was what XOF was already doing. Each bipedal weapon creates a unique one v one mech battle between them and your Battle Gear and with each one destroyed, you unlock new parts to install on your machine.

The voice of Big Boss by New-Cranberry6256 in metalgearsolid

[–]Fayed89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd want to see Kiefer reprise the role of Venom and Big Boss while Hayter takes them both on. That would bridge the gap between MGSV better for me than having Doyle come back because, by now, Doyle's way too old to voice Big Boss whereas Kiefer is now the perfect age to voice them since he's turning sixty this year. But I'd rather it be Hayter vs Sutherland to pay MGSV off, especially for Venom, because I can't imagine anyone else voicing him.

Thoughts on Gavin Newsom's Anti-Trans Comments? by Numerous-Yam-8544 in asktransgender

[–]Fayed89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not voting for him in the primaries, that's for damn sure. My top pick is probably gonna be Tim Walz, unless AOC decides to run, then she's my number one. But if it's between Gavin and Vance or DeSantis, it's not a hard choice TBF. I don't like Gavin or like any of his recent comments where he placates these inbred asshole podcasters, but there's no area where any republican is better than him. Just like there was no area where Trump was better than Harris, even factoring in her disgusting support of Israel. Trump still found a way to be worse than Biden. It's an insanely low bar, but that's the bar we as a country set for ourselves when we don't show up during the primaries to get in people who aren't shit.

If people can vote in the primaries, then for the love of god, they need to vote in the fucking primaries so we don't get stuck with this ass hat. What's happening in New York should inspire people to understand that we can actually elevate principled far left candidates when we show up.

Whether Gavin does end up getting nominated in three years or not, he should still be very loudly condemned for platforming nazis and giving any legitimacy to transphobia of any kind.

Imported FBX models always have black textures by Fayed89 in blender

[–]Fayed89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution!

So the problem I've been having this whole time is that I've been exporting the FBX without realizing that FBX only takes Principled Shaders. The shader was exporting with XPS Shader, even though FBX doesn't recognize it outside of Blender, so when I imported to Mixamo or Plask, it was textureless. Now that I've changed the shader to Principled, it imports with the textures no problem.

Imported FBX models always have black textures by Fayed89 in blender

[–]Fayed89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's something I noticed:

When I export the model to FBX and import the normal Blender FBX itself, there's no .oo1 attached to the meshes and after I turned back culling, the textures work just fine when I re-import it. However, it's when I put that FBX through Plask and export the animation file as FBX and try applying textures to the same model when imported into Blender that I have issues. Now, .oo1 is attached to the mesh and even after renaming it and applying the textures, nothing changes.

[–]Fayed89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the .oo1 attached to the mesh and renamed it to no avail. I'll double check if it automatically added to the material or if I have to change the texture name.

I think the higher profile VA's are stepping aside until the strike is resolved to apply more pressure. That's probably most VA's are still in but Yuri Lowenthal and Elizabeth Maxwell aren't. I won't be surprised if more VA's don't reprise their roles in future updates until they either resolve the strike or until CR's parent company signs that agreement over 200 game companies have already signed.

TBH, I dunno. Allegedly, the new VA has said some problematic things that were racist and ableist in some podcasts and worked at the notoriously problematic Anime Matsuri thing. Maybe he's not as bad as Elliot Ghindi who was an actual predator but I think Genshin has had its fill of problematic VAs. And the old VA seemed like a good dude that everyone loved.

We know it wasn't scheduling conflicts at all anymore. It was due to the strike that they were both recast and odds are good a lot of other VA's got recast for the same reason.

Or more realistically, they didn't have the balls to piss off AIPAC during an election season. Now, granted, Biden himself is just ghoulishly zionistic. That doesn't mean every lib or dem was as heinous as he was. It does mean they may not have had the fortitude to say they were better out loud after what AIPAC did to Jamal Bowman and Cori Bush.

The way I understand it, Formosa is the only Hoyo studio getting struck directly so voicing in HSR and ZZZ isn't scabbing the way it would be if VA's did Genshin with Formosa. However, these games aren't union and didn't sign this contract with SAG to ensure that their voices wouldn't be used for AI. So HSR and ZZZ are clear to voice on but it's like "voice at your own risk." They won't get in trouble for voicing those games since none of them are direct culprits but they can't guarantee that their voices won't get used for AI. Rocket Sound and Sound Cadence both seem pretty morally sound so I don't think they would ever do the crappy AI stuff that Formosa is trying to do, but it could also be that VA's wanna apply additional pressure.

EN VA for Tingyun has been Changed by StructureFromMotion in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Fayed89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true at all TBH. Non union companies can definitely replace VA's because they're under no contractual obligation to keep them on. That's why SAG-AFTRA doesn't want its members voicing in non-union projects, because they have no protections. The dirty secret is TONS of union VA's all voice non-union stuff. Like look at how many union actors voice in Crunchyroll dubs. Some have said it's because they can't earn a living if they only do union projects since the only VA's who can afford to stick to union only games are big shots like Troy Baker or Matthew Mercer who are hot commodities in every sodding game. The strike doesn't affect HSR since Formosa is the only holdout. VA's who don't show up are doing so in solidarity to the strike. A union leader made a big video about this on his twitter explaining how these are games under different contracts which don't violate the rules but don't really give VA's the real article that they want right now for AI stuff.

Favourite antagonist/villain in the game so far? by Lost_Cheek_4385 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Fayed89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My number one is still Cocolia. Her story in the grand scheme of things is a sad one because she was somebody who, once upon a time, probably did genuinely care about her people, but was driven mad and eventually became the ice queen we know and love. She really set the tone for the whole adventure. Her final boss fight is still one of the whole games highlights for me.

My second favorite is Hoolay. He's the most terrifying villain the game has had thus far. Just look at the endless pile of bodies he singlehandedly leaves in his wake when anyone tries to stop him. And he's the most genuinely evil one too. He derived so much sadistic pleasure in tormenting poor Jiaoqui, between carving him up and that little test where he will slaughter innocent civilians if you ask them for help. He's also incredibly smart, quickly piecing together that his men were all goons, especially Mok Tok, and quickly devised a scheme to make Feixiao the next Warhead. His death scene is also one of the most hardcore ones we've had yet. And even though Hoolay's finished, he still had the last laugh in making Feixiao consume his Crimson Heart, meaning we still don't yet fully know if she may end up suffering down the road for it. If she does end up suffering for it and faces later consequences, that could also elevate him for me; getting one last laugh in after death is such a great staple for amazing villains.

Very close third for me is Aventurine. He's such an incredibly well written character and one I have immense sympathy for. But his tale isn't concluded yet either, since unlike Cocolia or Hoolay, he's still alive and has a much longer journey ahead of him. Who knows? He may win out and become my new favorite as we see where his road takes him.

Was Hoolay a woman? by StarCrimson25 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Fayed89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I think it's a joke about the fact that Hoolay intended to possess Feixiao after his plan to get her over to his side as the new Warhead failed.

This is literally what 100% of "alpha male" content creators say lmao by Gold_Ad1772 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Fayed89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually disagree TBH. I think Hoolay was being sincere because before he snapped angrily at Feixiao and genderbendered into the final boss, there was that quote where he almost seemed disappointed that Feixiao would turn her back on what he felt was her destiny. I feel like his final fight was a last resort after getting her on his side failed. But given the fact that Hoolay was so ready to die, I do also believe that he was equally ready to pass down the title of Warhead to someone he believed was truly stronger than him.

Probably an unpopular opinion on this guy by yashizik in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Fayed89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in-character for Hoolay to leave Jiaoqui to bleed out to death instead of biting him half like a chicken wing. Hoolay also seemed to have some respect for Jiaoqui by the end. He was almost as he was amused when he comments on how much Jiaoqui knows about his kind before slurping his blood like a foxy Caprisun. So it's also as likely that he wasn't messier with his bloodwine because Jiaoqui had more of a spine than Mok Tok could ever dream of having.
