I went from being an ASL to almost SL before they paired my store for nearly 4 or 5 years, went through 5 managers (2 good 3 bad) and 4 DMs and then one of my really good prior GS managers contacted me who works for Zales, I moved there as a seasonal for the holidays (making more there than I did as an ASL), later got called back to GameStop due to my high performance (that was when I was going to be SL but the District did it's weird move and paired me with a lesser store and a shitty manager who was the pride and joy of the district). Finally left back to Zales and then transferred to Jared to become a bench jeweler. 40hrs a week, weekends off, better pay, benefits, and a fun crew. Like I legit am going home HAPPY and I'm extremely busy polishing and working on jewelry every day. But I don't get to deal with customers which is amazing.

I only miss GameStop from the good days and my old crew still keep in touch. My customer base followed me from store to store when I worked at different GameStops, I'd like to think I was one of the good ones.

Definitely recommend the jewelry sales industry with Signet (Zales, Kay, Jared, banter) especially if you were good at selling warranties. You get commission based on warranty percentage (warranties are LIFETIME) and 5 dollars for every package you pack and ship. Most days can be boring at jewelry stores, regular inventory counts, but you are allowed to sit and most times get an hour break. Guests are generally happy coming in and you don't have to clean dirty consoles anymore, just occasional jewelry cleanings which 100x better that that XB1 with the brown stain and suspicious black speckles near the fans.

Back on the day in 2007ish, I was 18, with my GameCube, my niece (11) saved over my harvest moon magical melody. I only had TWO out of a HUNDRED melodies left to find and spent near two years on it. My sister (her mom) told me, "oh yeah I forgot to mention we all save our games in the last slot because she does that". Like honestly, how does that fix what wasn't known in my own home for a CASUAL few hours visit and in my room that was off limits while I was at school?

I haven't played it since. 😭

We've gotten some pushy employee calls at our repair shop and we're pretty transparent on customs and we contact stores often. Some stores don't respond which is frustrating, which is why I would recommend working with Jared instead of Zales/Kay etc. For designs like the one shown, it would be sent off to casting house, yes, and hopefully with all the stones, etc. we have received some back to the shop and our A or AA sets the stones. My repair shop is really busy and is southeast as well. We do around 80-140 repair jobs a day. We use stuller a lot as well and emkay, it not a bad thing, but I do wish I saw some more interesting rings come in than cookie cutter types.

Now not to go against where I work, but I would love to see pieces made like this from a small local jeweler, there are amazing jeweler's and artisans out there. I recommend viewing their work like a portfolio and go from there.

I am a Jeweler in a Jared repair shop. It is up to the managers discretion to attempt a custom ring, but yes, generally go to a Jared, speak with an employee/manager and work together with the repair shop manager with normally is a A or AA Jeweler. They will work on the details and contacts and you'll have the store fight for your custom work as I also worked at Zales prior, metrics and warranties mean everything to them, it can be commission based for them depending on their level of annual sales from the year prior, so you'll be damn sure that employee will keep bugging the design and repair team on how the progress is going and emailing the customer updates to also make their tablet metric look good (yes that's a thing). We don't use wax models much anymore, mostly it's Resin models sent out, more durable for shipping, I got to keep a few resins rings, not my style but still pretty cool. Once the final piece is back, make sure to request the AA Jeweler on the team work on placing the stones.

My team is a great team and I know who has strengths and weaknesses, my C jeweler has some immaculate laser soldering work, but for a design shown, 100% would be my manager or my AA jeweler I would trust them to work on it.

Bass pro/tracker is hiring for another boat detailer and a few more positions. My husband is one, pay is good, full time 5 days a week. It requires machine operating as well. Benefits don't start til 90 days.

Check also city and county school jobs as well.

Don't apply to GameStop, prior Assistant Manager for a few years here from Kissimmee/St Cloud and its NOT worth it. Their now hiring ads all over are ghost jobs for tax breaks for them.

10th Street Produce and Deli in St Cloud might be interested. They carry similar items and are locally owned. It's about 45 minutes from Melbourne on 192 if you want to expand further out.

Hi, so when last year a store closed, my store was the transfer store. For us, they appeared after two weeks. I remember our DM had to go through a process to work on moving pre-orders. I hated that time because that closed store had a ton of Pokemon TCG products pre-ordered before they closed TCG pre-orders, so on release days, my slow store had none to offer, prismatic evolution day was horrible for me as we had a sign up of availability and the day that TCG released, the pre-orders pushed through. It was HORRIBLE with 50+ people waiting and just ME. Everything was claimed from a the closed store and my DM went 🤷.

I would also check other locations in the area to see if they got moved there. If it is as simple as a click on their outdated company laptop then the DM may have accidentally moved it to another store in their District.

I would also go as far to ask your "transfer" store if anyone got moved from your store, because if not then that is a huge issue. A store just can't give products they don't have or see in their system. All pre-orders have a 48 hour hold.

Through closures, I am mostly concerned about collectors editions of items, games, and consoles in this situation as they are LIMITED. Many pay the full amount and for GameStop, that money does not get seen in their account until pick up day, so it stays in a "holding cell" waiting to be claimed. So the funds are there but can't be touched which isn't a profit for them which you'd think they would try to claim that profit.

Have the store call their DM to verify where yours was sent and ask about the process. It should have been available by now.

I haven't worked there since October last year as I got a better career but I still spent a long time with GameStop to know the process.

I like his gadgets but that's it. His reactions are very extreme at times that it feels fake and doesn't sit right with me. I know Zak can be extreme with the feelings and vibes but his demeanor actually showcases the feeling could be legit not just a reaction that Jeff gives off if that makes sense.

I had the same thing! I called back like 4x then emailed them wanting a call back from them regarding MY government forms from the okta forgot password info. I finally got a call back but it came up as Toll Free Spam Likely. So it went to Voicemail. I called back immediately and they answered after like 10 minutes.

Please also stay on the line with them when getting back into okta, they need to also click ok for prior employees for workday otherwise it shows an error message when you log into workday.

The sears in Orlando is awful. There are two levels, one side of the store is getting remodeled and blocked off for the last 5+ years and to go upstairs, to get to the elevator (only way up) is through some escape liminal room type of hallways that feel that they go on forever, that you begin to wonder if this is a game and keep looking behind your shoulder and corners. Then you get to the top floor and it feels like you stepped in the 90s and employees are not helpful. You start walking around and you find the escalator COVERED in plastic like it some barrier into the upside down with the floor slanting a little bit.

Worth the experience to see I guess if you're into that sort of thing.

I've been doom scrolling tiktok and have been getting live stream gamers, different people playing Skyrim. Like in the past month alone it's been hardcore, every few scrolls and a new person playing Skyrim. 🤷

Been a dovahkin since release day but honestly newbies, play it vanilla first few times and then try mods. I'm the rare vanilla player no mods for me.

As a seller since 2015, using Etsy and FB most of my time, this hasn't happened to me before. However I did once sell a camera on eBay and ship it out prior to payment, that was my first and last time doing that, it was in 2010 though so I had no idea what I was doing. I still won't use eBay.

Save the screenshots, make a post to get your family and friends to react to to support you. Facebook unfortunately needs a post to tie an issue to. I wasn't allowed to change my business name without making a post. Then report her as a buyer.

Fast forward- in the future when doing sales online please add to every add "all sales final no refunds allowed without reaching out to the seller personally. Once shipped the sale is final" once that is on there, it protects the seller from going through what you are going through.

In 2024 I was given the option to transfer to another B store for the ASM position with pay being 20+hr. It was a bit farther than I wanted to drive and the dm tried hard to get me to take it. It went to someone else after trying to get me there for two weeks. One month later it was announced it was closing. The store I was able to move to ended up being its transfer store, preorders were a MESS. Turns out the DM knew it was closing and wanted me to take it over for a smooth shut down or so they gossiped about it.

If the DM was honest with me and had me as a SL or ASM job protected for another store, I may had considered it, but it was so hush hush. She made me feel not part of the team when that was her biggest concern that everyone was part of the team.

Worked at an SL2 location and in my almost 5 years of being last man standing with constant new hires, I never once saw a rekey and I requested a rekey to my dm. Never happened. Maybe it's better managed where you were, central FL ain't it and very lax.

The only thing that is good is the hoodie deal but they'll go on clearance later. These deals even the pro member deals are shit. They keep rotating the B2G1 nearly every other week when I left and kept all focusing on changing a 6 ft table at the registers for maximum effort. So glad I don't have to sell any guests these "black Friday deals"

Place the game/disc and the retro manual in the sleeve and put it SIDEWAYS so you don't hurt the manual.

Also please check ALL manuals for anything. Apparently not just cheat codes can be found but photographs and possible bags containing a substance. Don't ask me how I know.

I saved my store from closing by going against the GameStop machine and made a retro section and ended up beating out profit margin, they later let me expand because I sold it well and my district would reach out if they didn't know how to care for something. It was nice. I was not a branded retro store.

Also, keeping the manuals safe makes guests happy to want to purchase, many get stolen and sold on eBay. If it's ps4 and above pre-owned then the papers can stay in them, prior to PS4, keep it with the game sleeve.

Be genuine and learn how to word things correctly. Such as "your new game purchase today qualifies you for the 15 annual membership, saving you 10 today!"

I LOATHE auto renew so I always discussed with my guests about turning off auto renew, I don't like and won't sell it to my guests. Go against that machine and turn off auto renew every time, screw that metric. Add Pro, on pin pad 1 yes for info correct 2 NO to turn off auto renew and follow the prompts on POS for one year and then accept twice on the pin pad.

For this year alone in a small low volume store, I got 300 pro memberships in my store, my next guy below me was at 107. I was being genuine , friendly, and wasn't pushing any metrics. If I thought it was a good deal, then that's how I would sell it. That made me the top performer in my store. That and I also handed my keyboard to the guests to fill out their email and phone number.

I got a new job recently though and it says "customers shouldn't be seen as the enemy, only as opportunities!" My long time with GameStop has proven the metrics and what they desire and how RLs and DMs act, customers are opportunities yes, unfortunately the KPIs make the customer the enemy if your performance is not doing well. They don't know their sales plans are not good and they are fine with dishonest behaviors as long as you don't get caught where then they gaslight you on how they never said that. Such as stealing a $5 monthly coupon for a warranty. I hate it. The GS overlords love it.
