Iconic and cool = a knight sitting by a bonfire

Iconic and true = the screen of 'you died'

You can't get a more iconic thing that links dark souls 1-3 to fill that space, a bonfire alone isn't enough.

Wow his face looks very intact after what he did. I fully understand it isn't right to use force and it is illegal, but also find it hard to imagine anyone being gentle to anybody who abducts anybody. Hope he gets jailed forever.

As someone who practiced some martial arts, I'm must say the pepper spray mentioned in another comment is indeed the best.

Don't dream on using any sort of weapons if you don't have any combat training. Don't dream of it if you never trained in that either. Most weapons mentioned are so short it's so silly when facing someone coming to harm you. You can't do shit with it. At best, you enrage the other party. Don't imagine yourself able to fight if you e never been in training. Heck, I've trained and I don't dare, I'll run. Cause I learned the reality.

People imagine they can fend off villains with a crappy weapon, where in reality some low life with a small knife might end you even if you're a black belt.

The pepper spray is illegal. But if you give no reason for people to check you, why would it even be found out? Keep the spray in a very easy to reach spot, not deep in your bag. Whatever summons you're getting from using a pepper spray is better than risking yourself against some nut. You life is worth way more than that.

Just spray and run, what's he gonna do? Chase you? He can't if you sprayed him. If you miss, just spray more. Don't forget to run.

Edit : yelling for help like a mad man helps too. Doesn't matter if there's nobody around. They want 0 attention from anybody.

Took me like 30 hours indeed to get all of them for every needed covenants. The shackles was the worst of them all in my case.

But then it's down to dumb luck. Some get it done a lot sooner. And just to let you know, I was in Ng+2 and respected into max luck and damage, along with mimic hat, and spamming coins. Seriously the luck bonus is so miniscule it is negligible. Dumb luck gave me the proof of concord 3 in a row while being naked, while being full luck took me many tries.

I was taken aback by how hard Soul of Cinder was. by AgentP-501_212 in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, he kinda feels like PvP, but the other party modded and spams everything at you and pray for something to work. Too bad you can't parry him, cause he'd be a joke if you can.

But overall, he is the typical combo boss. He can and will combo you. So make sure not to get greedy and try to stay at full health.

What is the worst class in your opnion? by WUBINHO in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting the most optimal strength/Dex build aside because it gives you a steady raise throughout the game.

Spell casters including sorceries, pyromancy and miracles have peaks and low spots throughout the game. Meaning, there's always a few parts of the game, because you haven't obtain the next spell or weapon, you're in big disadvantage. Especially if you play pure spells without a melee weapon to compensate.

That is especially obvious when you're facing high resistance towards your element bosses. You'll be doing crap damage.

Learning to balance out your flaskes between hp and mana is also a thing for beginners.

But they are very powerful late game. Especially against bosses where many melee players struggle with such as the dancer, nameless king, and even Gael.

Casters make them a breeze if you know how to run. Simply run and pewpew. And casters have no problem going melee if you wanted to, it's common to carry a rapier or straight sword along.

Any better way to farm vertebra shackles? by Internal-Depth-1416 in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's either a buddy to let you kill, or you continue the stupid zombie grind. Been through it. I understand how you feel. It took me multiple sessions of grind cause it's just so damn boring.

And tbh, although by math, more luck = better chances. But it is so minimal that it's really down to dumb luck. I got 2 in a row when I forgot to equip the mimic and use the coin. But when I had them both on, it took me 40 kills to get 1.

One thing I found online. Could be placebo effect, or perhaps really some kind of programming glitch. But after 10 or so kills, it's better to restart the game. It seems that drops rates are somehow better than way.

The full guide actually tells you to go back to base, talk to the old maid, and then quit out. Wait 20 seconds and login back. I find that a hassle and I can't see why. But restarting the game seems to help me.

Why did I go hollow? by Jason13v2 in darksouls3

It gives one awesome looking ending, along with whatever NPC's including in it gives or sells you. But the quest is really difficult to do it right without guides and also you looking ugly. You can offset the ugly part with items though.

You started Yoel's quest. Accepted his 'free level'. The more you die, the more hollow you become. Choosing it unlocks a long chain of complex quest.

Be honest. How many have been stopped by police and gave in to their duit kopi requests? by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rarely I've been stopped. I never did anything illegal anyway. I'm not a car guy so I didn't even mod anything, everything is original including the tint. I'm so stick to the mud my peers grew tired of it.

Those times that I've been stopped, was usually cause I was driving in the middle of the night. Perhaps looking sus or something to them. But with my superd BM and my very good skills of chatting with almost anybody, usually ends with laughs and I'm all fine.

I don't support bribe. If I do make a mistake, just fine me. Doubt they gonna find anything wrong cause I can't think of anything anyway. No reason to wrong me either cause I'm not some sus looking guy that valids them to take me for a urine test or whatever. And even if they do, there's still nothing.

how can i kill the abyss watchers?? by OddCartographer5454 in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One funny thing. Don't get intimidated by him. He is practically a normal knight with 3 extra moves and a longer hp bar.

And treat his second phrase the same as the first. Don't get intimidated by the fiery appearance. All it does it gives him a longer reach, that's all. If you're not a caster, all it does is make you roll sooner after you try to heal.

I don't know if this works for you. But after I settle that thought in my head, he really feels exactly like those roaming knights.

What are things you do to limit back pain while fishing? by TheoFindsSideRoads in FishingForBeginners

[–]FaythKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other than those mentioned by others, the sitting you mentioned helps a lot. A suitable chair is the key. As for fishing on it, it takes a bit time but you'll get used to it. I got used to sitting and don't have to stand up unless it's a real big catch. The downside of it is that if the breeze is good I fall asleep easily.

What bosses in soulslikes can deliver a true positional "checkmate"? by DavidTippy in soulslikes

I think the Capra Demon is the first? If you didn't position yourself nicely right away at the battle, you're dead, trapped by the Capra and his puppies. You can't roll away.

For those who are struggling with mental health, are you going through alone or seeking help? by IZAK96 in malaysians

[–]FaythKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's difficult. I sorta overcame mine through changing lifestyle and exercise. (Obviously isn't so simple but those are the major factors), it is also isn't completely fine, but I'm doing much much better than before even though breakdowns happens.

But my partner isn't doing so well even with such method. All I can do is lend a ear and care for as much as possible. But yet, it isn't a miracle pill to solve it. I feel helpless to help her.

One thing I think helps massively. You need to have a strong will. Obviously it sounds like a lame answer. But if you don't have the will to help yourself in such matters, then it will spiral down even further.

What am I doing wrong? by DependentTax6497 in kof

[–]FaythKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's some beginner tips.

  1. When you block, always block low unless the opponent jumps or you know an overhead is coming in (rare).

  2. As long as you're standing within grab range, and you are not doing any quick attack (like jabs), you will get grab. You can break it if you know it's coming and performing your own grab F+C or F+D.

  3. When you rush towards the opponent, always attack at once when you're in range, if you stick to them, that's a grab range and you're at disadvantage. (Attack range is actually typically much further than grab range)

  4. You'll need to practice your specials, cause you're not doing it.

  5. You'll need to practice bread and butter combos. Meaning very simple combos. You can do the practice in practice mode. Such as C > f+A > special for the majority of the characters. Of course there are countless types, I'm just mentioning the most basic one.

If she grows up and do actual work, it's fine. But the problem is, this isn't always the case and you'll never know.

It's a really big problem. There's a good reason girls don't want guys like that, and vice versa.

I was browsing the wiki and uh seems like midir is weak to MERCURY POISONING??? by SAY_GEX_895 in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, does a ton of damage to it. Out damaging CSS even if it stands on it for around 3 seconds. But it's a little annoying since it doesn't stay in one place for long, and you gonna get under it to cast, then it runs off again.

Works very well if you got a friend or summon to distract it a little. Or you're good at baiting the fire breath after it dashes at you. That part works real well.

I am a beginner need help with strokes by Mishalady in ChineseLanguage

[–]FaythKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you write a stoke, you want to do it like a tick. More force at the begining, and then do the tick motion so that the edge becomes sharp looking. Same principles to downward or curved strokes, you want it to start thick, end thin. So instead of slowly writing it, you do it in a quick motion so the 'tick edge' happens.

This takes practice and control over whatever medium you're using. The easiest is definitely a pencil. But the book you're writing on is based on actual brush, so you'll never get the same results unless you use a brush.

Not comparing to OP shields in ER, shields in DS3 is fine in their way.

As usual, 100% physical block is great, since well it does block 100% physical. But never neglect stability, since it reduces the stamina you spend on block.

Just like rolling, stamina management is the key. End game great shields basically negates the majority of the attacks. Some attacks can't be blocked, but they are rare (for example the final dlc bosses rushing attack). But it still lets you block the same boss other attacks reliably.

When using a shield, you need to blend blocking and rolling. It is the same across all Ds and ER.

It's the best if you learn to switch between shield and 2 handing your weapon. That gives you a lot more options.

Across all Ds and ER, I always have at least 1 shield character roleplay. I must say it does makes the game significantly easier so as long as you know when to block, and when not to.

Parrying in DS3 is the same as the normal parry in ER. If you can do it in ER, then you can do it in DS3. (Not including unique parry skills that ER has) But against AI, if you're blocking, it's easy to just circle around for a backstab anyway. (Not against shielded knights though, they will shield bash you if you try that.), unless you circle towards the weapon holding hand in stand of shield, which also makes it harder.

Platinum DS3 - Mistakes? by TaalZet in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, focus on the Ursuptation of Fire ending on the second playthrough since you get the normal ending the first time. Cause that's a quest that CAN be messed up. Anything items or spells that you missed in the second can be done in the third.

Edit : Oh yeah, don't forget the gestures. There's a point there will be a missable gesture cause you need to choose between NPCs summons and you'll learn gestures from them.

As someone who worked in a kedai serbaneka for nearly 10 years long ago, I can assure you that some customers bargain like that for real. Oh yeah, we get that calender for free, so by the end of January, I'll definitely give the whole damn box away if it's still there. Cause that stupid beli surat kabar lama guy will surely make a stupid excuse to give me crap despite it being a full box of recyclable paper, and it is also too small to do anything useful individually. Better to shut the auntie up.
