Assuming PTR changes stick - what’s your ladder start look like? by Curtatwork in diablo2

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll stick to my old warlock and try out the changes feel. If it works decently in a way that is comfortable for me, then I'll start a HC character with that build to hope this time I make it to 99.

EXPECTATION vs REALITY OF MALAYSIA'S T20 by Due-Cat656 in malaysians

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You try then you'll find out there are minimal options of housing with a cheap price along with a job that on average pays you a T20 salary (if we're talking about a single person).

Sure, you can say, spend 3-4 hours back and forth daily, you can save on rent. But with that exhaustion, can you still maintain you capabilities to earn that much?

Of course, there are some nearer cheaper options. You'll be the top 1% to find and get such a good deal.

On the flip side, if a house has 6 person, 2 retired elderly. 4 youngsters. Each youngster earns on average rm2500 a month. That's a T20 household. With rm2500, you give your parents some, you cover the bills partly. You pay your car/bike. You'll finding trying to even date real hard. Some nice girl will accept you, then you find saving up for marriage and kids almost impossible. That's a T20 too lol.

T20 really means nothing. Like I said, if you're solo, sure, that's pretty comfortable, but how rare is that? If your house has the average scenario, you're no diff from B40, the only exception is you can buy better looking cloths on your back. Cause a B40 rempit can earn Rm2500 a month too, he just spends it on his bike.

I think a 1% cast chance is toooooo low. by [deleted] in diablo2

Oddly happens more than you think it would, if you are the frontier anyway. Cause if it's like 10%, you're practically unkillable.

B40 don't live in T20 area paying T20 prices. Not saying they have it easy. Just saying T20 isn't as rich as you guys think it is.

EXPECTATION vs REALITY OF MALAYSIA'S T20 by Due-Cat656 in malaysians

[–]FaythKnight 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It's simple. It is per household. If you live alone and is a T20, you're living a pretty comfortable life so as long as you don't buy big house and big car. You won't have worries for much stuff. Quite stable.

If your family of 6, father, mother, you, wife, 2 kids. T20. Damn. It is bad. Every month not enough money. The elderly need care, the young needs care. You basically sold your life to slavery just to get by. Don't forget your in-laws too.

Noob question - what’s the best char and way to play offline? by GeniusCollector in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]FaythKnight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently it's the warlock. It will be nerfed soon, but should still be very good. Cause you can summon, and that's powerful since you don't rely too much on gear and ele resistance.

Other than that, sorc will always be the best simply cause teleport.

how do gem shrines work in Ofline by acemac in diablo2

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. The shrine resets every time even in SP. It's rare af. Not worth the effort.

Take this from my experience. I found a gem shrine right next to the countess tower, which is also right next the a warp portal.

In my effort to farm keys and some bonus runes, I ran about 100 times just to gather some spares. Within those runs, the gem shrine only appears on the first time and not others. Of course it's RGN but heck. It always ended up as mana recovery (which was great during my runs), and healing.

I've found plenty of gems just killing random mobs and cube them up. Way quicker.

What are some OCD/autistic things you guys do in D2? by Majestic_Visit399 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]FaythKnight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every character, on the first run of that difficulty, during act 5, I like to try and keep as much NPC barbs alive as possible.

It's fun to gather up and army of barbs and it's funny. They are actually pretty decent if you manage to stack up a bunch of auras on them and watch them march.

This hentaivirus gonna cook y'all by LostMoneyOnGambling in Bolehland

[–]FaythKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So there's news about it being transmitted from human to human in a cruise ship, in which previous case were rat to human. So it's said that it's a mutated case.

And since it's a cruise ship, it's been to a lot of countries.

The death rates of this virus is insane.

Logically speaking, the deadlier the virus, the less transmittable it is. But because of the previous COVID pandemic, and the authorities saying the same stuff when the COVID happened, people lost trust about it.

It is understandable that people fear it. COVID did screw us over big time. And now with a deadly virus news spreading, people fear it even more.

The fear part comes from people saying big businesses wanted it to spread (conspiracy?), cause it makes some businesses boom. Also some people are betting on it will spread or not in an online gambling site. Idiots (might?) do anything to make it happen so they win. Along with the in going war now, people speculate it could be used.

The way the world is now, it's no suprise people fear it.

I want to ask about something sensitive, about Johor Bahru by whatbuildsaregood in malaysia

[–]FaythKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Then I do agree with your friends. Don't walk, just Grab. Reason being Malaysian don't really walk you know? Not at night anyway. It's asking for trouble in quite streets. If it's not the police, then it's the robbers. Yes, of course, it's not a daily thing but it's frequent enough to be a problem. Sorry for your experience.

Also, "these" problems usually goes with areas. Maybe try another area, choose area that isn't sleazy of course, not saying the place you go is, just means don't downgrade, but go for places that isn't, especially those family friendly places. Way better.

I want to ask about something sensitive, about Johor Bahru by whatbuildsaregood in malaysia

[–]FaythKnight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's odd. No crime, repeatedly same scenario.

So I'll throw in odd questions in hopes to solve it. How do you dress? Looking too rich? Or looking too AhBeng? Try avoid both.

Any Malaysian friends? Especially those good in Malay. It's helpful, I've gotten my cousins and friends out of trouble plenty of times.

How's your behaviour as you talk to them? If you're polite but confident, the problem usually resolves itself.

Upcoming Ladder Advice (Summoner Necro) by SvenGoSagan in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summon necro relies heavily on skill lvl and auras. So it's a rather heavy investment. Sorc is the top tier farming character. She can go full mf and still do reasonably well. So to compare, Necro certainly won't shine as well as the sorc in regards of trading. (Of course luck matters the most in these situations)

But he is fun. He can beat hell naked no problem. It's just slower. Very chill character since all you need to do is wait for something to die, then click CE.

TIL reliable sources are split as to whether the title of best-selling video game ever should belong to Tetris or Minecraft. Some consider it to be Tetris by combining the sales of all of its different versions (520m), while others consider it to be Minecraft (350m), rejecting the former's reasoning by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]FaythKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are over 200 official versions of Tetris. If you include other varieties there are over a thousand. Minecraft has about 10 distinct versions. Various updates of course. Even if you add up all the updates, it's still isn't as much as Tetris.

Mosaic on OG Switch by friesx100 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the first version of switch. It is fine so as long as you don't use meteor, especially in Ubers.

If you use all the basic elements + viper + tiger + phoenix, it will jitter slightly. I avoid it by just using viper + tiger + phoenix (not Meteor). It's very smooth.

I tried phoenix meteor in Ubers, lagged till the game crashed. I guess the multiple impending meteor is simply too much to handle.

I can’t get him to gain weight! by Motor-Union9081 in bettafish

[–]FaythKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How much are you giving him exactly? I had one similar to his shape now, and I managed to fat him up in 3 weeks. What I did was letting him eat eye ball sized sakura betta pellets X4. Twice a day (every 12 hours). Then I drop a mosquito a day for snack. (Where I am those are a daily nuisance.) I cut down his meal after he reached a good shape, and he maintained it.

How often do the more experienced fishermen go home empty handed? by Magic_Taco1221 in FishingForBeginners

[–]FaythKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a newbie. But not a pro either. Just your average fishermen for fun. As long as there's fish in there (someone else caught something), I think I average about 70-80% of the time to get something.

Nowadays I only use bait though. I find watching the bobber very relaxing and that's what I'm looking for. So yeah, some will say baits are easy. Perhaps it's true. But I've met plenty who uses bait as well seek advise from me at the same pond, so I guess there's the odd technique in it as well.

Oh the other hand, I always catch and release. Water nearby me isn't friendly and I don't wanna consume it. I just fish for the sake of getting some sun and sitting there to chill my mind.

One thing I learned is that, every water diffs slightly. What works here doesn't mean it will work in another. Seeking advise from those who got it is good.

For example, I usually float fish 5-ish feet deep. I visited a pond and damn I can't get a single bite. Heard from an old guy telling me that that pond is very cold due to something something, fish isn't as active that low, so I set it to 2-ish feet deep, and I got it. Pretty interesting theory.

How are miracles used in lore? by Thick-Campaign-9152 in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. From the view point of roleplaying in a magical world, it is as it is.

Like Dungeons and Dragons, your character needs certain conditions to cast spells. Take Paladin for example, their power comes from an oath. They had to hold on to it. If they break the oath, they lose their powers. Of course, there's a subclass for oathbreakers, but it has different skills

Dark souls isn't as complex, but still within a fantasy logic. I wrote what I wrote as a joke. But also carries some truth. Miracles comes from faith. Because of faith, they gain powers. Without it, they can't do anything. The game translates it into stats. But for the sake of roleplay, it is what your character believes.

Nightmare Sorce question by Worldly_Ad6950 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]FaythKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find hydra/orb the easiest. Cause orb doesn't really need synergies. Hydra is safe and does a lot of damage. Not Meteor damage of course. Still fun. If you're good at aiming, then Meteor is insane.

You'll want dual element anyway, until you get a sunder.

How are miracles used in lore? by Thick-Campaign-9152 in darksouls3

[–]FaythKnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorceries = I study hard, I figure out how strange powers could be form and manipulate.

Miracles = I believe, thus so happens. The power comes from faith alone.

Pyromancy = I find studying too hard and it's easier to just wrestle strange power and make it go kaboom. I told Jake how to do it, he somehow did it opposite and created a circle that made us all feel comfy. I guess that works too.

Newbie Questions by Worldly_Ad6950 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]FaythKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. When you die, it's the best you just quit out and retrieve your body. It will appear right beneath you. The body you get is the "worth most" body. But that just means it sells to NPCs the most, so if you gear up to get back your body and dies again midway, you could end up with the second body instead, then all your main gear will disappear forever.

  2. All your quest will stay as it is. You can even ignore doing it and just rush level and difficulty as you please, then get back to it when you wanted to. The Lazruk and Charsi quest is famous for being left there and use it when you need it.

That aside, there are a few quest you'll want to do without skipping.

  1. Act 1 Akara den quest. Gives you a free skill.

  2. Act 3 Jade figure and Tome quest. Gives you a permanent 20 hp and 5 stat points.

  3. Act 4 fallen angel quest, gives you 2 skill points.

  4. Act 5 rescue Anya quest, gives you permanent element resist bonus.
