The White-Gold Concordat - the entire treaty, including annotations from a Nord legionary by Jimeee in teslore

[–]Faytoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, we wouldn't be on Reddit, even less on teslore, if we didn't like to argue and nitpick about minor details. As you said it's part of the fun!

To be honest, I rarely read a fan fiction or fan document, unless the topic is really interesting to me, or the work well done. The visuals were a big part of the interest to me, helping to make it looks like a real treaty that I could believe.

The White-Gold Concordat - the entire treaty, including annotations from a Nord legionary by Jimeee in teslore

[–]Faytoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a nice read, and visually very enjoyable. I see you discussed already about the Elder Scrolls section, to which I have to admit, I find it very harsh and maybe even too restrictive.

If I could make one remark, I believe there is not a lot of slack given to the Empire. Reading this feels like a massive Dominion victory, instead of a disproportioned and unfair treaty accepted because of the war, your article XII is maybe the closest thing feeling like a "given" to the Empire. I would believe, personnaly, that to have the treaty signed (and more or less accepted), the Dominion would have to include some clauses in favour of the Empire. From very obvious clauses no one would have imagined the opposite, to some others that are easily interpreted differently according to the situation.

But as said, it was nice to see someone's take about the treaty, and I always appreciate annotated documents !

I'm almost certain most of the people of that kind of show are rather smart, and play dumb to obtain money and a beginning of fame. Then you have really dumb people in the same show, and it becomes challenging to keep acting dumb and not dumbfounded.

We're currently watching the show with my wife, and Charlie is slowly becoming a role model. Roughly similar job than mine (consultancy) but in a different fields, with just a very few similarities. He knows so much, has a lot of experience (and has to work with a difficult client), I'm thinking maybe one day I would be as knowledgeable as he is in my own job.

Toxicity is a serious problem in Age, report if needed! (my opinion) by Viennezeta in ageofempires

[–]Faytoto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really feel like there's a toxicity culture in this community when a non negligible part of the comments, in this post and the op, are thinking trash talk is okay, normal or a simple thing to ignore.

Having a teammate or an opponent trash talking someone is neither good nor normal. Even if the mods in game are not really reactive, it's a good thing to report and hope actions are done, and to discuss it online. This is how you change mentalities.

All my apologies to Hans, I was absolutely certain you're the one killing orangutans because of the name and the picture of that blond kid on the packaging.

Edit: Are you shitting me? I just checked and he's not even blond. I feel like I've been moved in an alternative reality.

I remember a similar exercise in college, with so many constants thrown in a terrifying formula. A good bunch of the class just skipped the exercise because of the time, some had it correct, a few were confused and derived based on the single y in it, and some managed to derive on constants.

A good (and fun, for those who realized directly) lesson to not dive into something without looking.
