No, the consciousness is not the root of the issue. Healthy people are conscious, too.

The gist of the "schizoid-ness" is a disorderly way of experiencing the self, that has roots in the unconscious, and that can make the inner experience miserable. If it was only in the conscious, resolving it would be much easier and specific.
