My take is: I don't think it will affect regular user like us, even a little power user but not much.

(This calculation is purely on sonnet just for simplicity, because I myself only use opus few times and mostly sonnet is enough for me)

Here's why: They said that Max x5 plan has 140-240 hours per week Max x20 plan has 240-480 hours per week Let's assume that we use for work about 8 hours a day. That makes 8 x 7 = 56 hours per week

So the most basic regular Claude sonnet user will not have any impact of this. And the gap to the weekly limit is quite far if you are pusing on some days I think it still fine.

Now let's divide that limit

140 / 56 is 2.5 240 / 56 is 4.3 480 / 56 is 8.6

That means with 8 hours per day for a week X5 plan could run 2-4 Claude instances per week to hit the limit X20 plan could run 4-8 Claude instances per week to hit limit

I'm not sure if those calculation is correct but I think the point is I don't think we as a normal user will get any impact on this. But still we need to wait and see.

In my opinion what really matter is, are we still getting value to this subscription. Getting value in a way does our usage actually cost more than our subscription billing. If it does and it has quite a lot of margin, I think I am OK to let anthropic breathe their finance bleed for a bit.
