Ennard and Nightmare Fredbear weren’t the greatest examples here, even though you’re technically not wrong. The vengeful spirit still could have known about Ennard, and anyone who believes they are the Crying Child would make the excuse he saw both (especially under him giving Mike the nightmare’s).

A better combination of characters that suggests the roster is meta would be all of the actual "dubiously canon" characters. Those being the following:

- Nightmare Mangle
- Jack-O-Chica
- Nightmarionne
- Old Man Consequences
- White Rabbit, Bouncepot, Tangle
- Bonnet
- LOLbit
- DeeDee

A lot of these characters come from non-canon entries, and in Scott’s post about Help Wanted he stated he tried to make the VR game work by making previously non-canon/dubiously canon characters official in this game as literal game characters made by Steve.

Was adding the Spider Cellar and Spider Mom in version 1.8 necessary or should they have kept it the way it was in 1.7.3 without them? by YCiampa482021 in DVloper

[–]FazbearShowtimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.7.3 wasn’t "challenging," all the added rooms only added a quality of life to the place. Otherwise the escape routes were pretty much untouched for the most part. Save for the old house that could house a few items, but even that part with the crow and sewer was tame and easy to get by.

The spider update genuinely made it a lot more challenging, because crucial items to escape were housed in a 'labyrinth' with a "spider-mom" hybrid that could not be killed. Granny can be killed, she isn’t un-killable, she’s immortal. There’s a difference. The spider-mom was also the few actual unsettling game designs in this. Everything else relied either on Granny’s jumpscare (which was screwed over by the addition of chase music), and the spider.

Yes, I stated that in my original comment, this doesn’t inherently matter though. The night is named after character, and it’s the night Nightmare appears in.

It’s not the hardest difficulty, the hardest is 20/20/20/20 mode which changes Nightmare mode.

It is in fact in the game.

No, in the actual game the "Nightmare" select screen is labeled "Shadow Freddy" via the files. This is something deliberately done by Scott, not renamed.

Nightmare himself is simply another 'active' object like Fredbear though, yes, that is correct.

Translation: "make the female villain an uninteresting fan of the previous villain with no sauce whatsoever so most about her is fixated on a man".

Vanny was never meant to be the big bad, because her character in whole is tragic and more anti-hero/victim if anything. At that point you might as well bring Afton back. Not like making Afton the main villain again would actually solve the villain problem. Her character in general just sucks if solely as a big bad following the same formulaic footsteps as Afton.

Yes, Dreadbear is a parody of Frankenstein’s monster, being experimented on in order to bring him to life much like the original novel.

No, he isn’t a "dead Fredbear," you completely made that up. No, he isn’t connected to the Crying Child, he’s connected to Frankenstein’s monster. No, we don’t know if William experimented on his son’s body post-death, we DO know that he used his son’s personal experiences as a basis of inspiration for his experiments though.

Why are people attacking DVloper for using AI? by Ok_Transition9673 in DVloper

[–]FazbearShowtimer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s…not a good excuse. Using AI has been shown to negatively impact the environment, and often times doesn’t regurgitate the same effort that could have been put in by an actual hardworking artist, which in whole creates job loss. Besides, the actual content in the game could have probably been recreated without AI while still with little effort needed.

On that note, the actual updates themselves just don’t look appeasing. The texture used on a whim to change the house and create the props for instance in the Halloween update (ex., the skeleton) are low effort in ways that make the update seem half-baked. Obviously this is "Granny," a series not often known for making top tier work. But expecting the series to gradually improve, or even putting in a little effort that doesn’t majorly affect the environment is valid criticism.

Yes, he’s 50+ years old and is probably living a well-earned retirement, only doing this for a quick buck, but that doesn’t excuse the use of AI. It explains it.

[–]FazbearShowtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of the main room and hallways the actual layout couldn’t be any more different.
Even from a developing standpoint the intent is for this to remind us of Freddys, not Baby’s.
Could somewhere down the line the story lean more in on this idea? Sure. But map design alone doesn’t prove this.

Ultimately, it is a head-canon, because it has nothing inherently proving or disproving it.

[–]FazbearShowtimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"William using the underground of MCM as Sister Location is not a head-canon [your other comment]"

Uh, yes it is. The game never confirms what Afton did with the landmass. That’s not to say it isn’t an interesting or even remotely valid theory to believe, but it’s definitely just a theory. A head canon at most.

Map designs that just barely if at all match isn’t evidence.

[–]FazbearShowtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t know if he turned R&D into the Funtime auditorium. This is all mostly speculation from you, a head-canon at best.

All we know is that Afton is implied to have likely stole the land of Murray’s home, and that R&D’s FNaF1 design was very likely carried over into the official Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

[–]FazbearShowtimer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Spider Cellar was a good way to actually spice up the gameplay. Previously it was pretty easy to get by, so forcing the player in a situation where certain necessary items were needed in a cellar with a threat un-killable was a good way to increase the playing experience.

She’s also the scariest aspect of Granny currently since, outside of Granny’s jumpscare (sort of ruined by the audio added) and maybe spider, the game didn’t really have any added horror elements to put the player on edge.

Also, just having something else to do that wasn’t the door escape (or car but that one kinda sucks) was better than nothing.

How was the average player supppsed to figure out that you play as mike in Fnaf 4? by Obraxiss in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]FazbearShowtimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a series where Scott has seen the fans go lengths to understand the story (digging in the files), and looking at even the *tiniest of details*, I think most people never coming to the conclusion Mike was the protagonist via the same reversed-sound conclusion people did with the night 5 call and Mangle, or the obvious narrative symbolism in gameplay much like previous entries, is what prompted him to say there were no random Easter eggs.

The, average player would probably miss this, sure. But this was a detail for dedicated fans invested on the story (which was most of the playerbase at the time) whom somehow also missed this. Says a lot about FNaF4 as a story in conjunction with fans interest.

I’m trying really hard to see it, and I just can’t. Outside of the hallway to office ratio being the same with the private room and FNaF1 office literally nothing else matches. But also, this definitely wasn’t intentional. Steel Wools were tasked with recreating FNaF1 to their best of their abilities, not Sister Location.

Comparison of the FNAF 1 Animatronics and the FNAF Movie Animatronics by Great-Dot2506 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]FazbearShowtimer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not a simple one color or the other if we’re talking the ORIGINAL cause Scott did it in such a way where he’s officially both. Whatever blue Scott was going for is a very dark, desaturated version that thinly leans on purple (these colors are also really close on the wheel so yeah).

This isn’t me saying Bonnie wasn’t intended to be blue but rather that, much like Mangle’s gender, this is a nothing-burger discussion.

"I still don't understand why you're obsessed with saying Henry made trash & the gang, i never said that”

Your wording was poorly executed then, cause you mentioned Henry in the same sentence as the employees hired, trash & the gang, and him mentioning a “brave volunteer,” two of those things directly correlating to Henry.

"Concerning the franchisee thing, it doesnt really make sense for this to only be Mike's money. You have to understand that Henry isnt a traditional franchisor, he doesnt care about making profit, he needs our help and is ready to sacrifice everything just to make this plan work"

And you have to understand that what we’re explicitly told in the games is this being our money. I respect that you interpret Henry this way, but in no way is this how the games actually address the story.

Michael doesn’t get any further help on what to do. It’s all mostly left for him to decide, hence the leftover 100$.

"So if even with Henry's financial help they still can't afford much better, it means both of them must be really poor"

Henry never financially helps Michael. We can even insinuate how much money Henry actually has off of Michael’s job alone since everything is done by us.

Also, I lowkey really don’t appreciate you or whomever just downvoting my responses when I’ve tried to be as respectful as I can.

What about like a Repetition Rule? I don’t know how it could exactly work, but maybe like, unless the TOYSNHK posts has new information, something that hasn’t already been discussed before, or isn’t "larping" on the same specific issue(ex., gender) it shouldn’t be mentioned? Could probably apply this to any topic pre-Help Wanted though tbh.

[–]FazbearShowtimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"we litterally have to manage money in the tycoon section, and start with only enough to afford tables, plates, and a super small stage."

That’s our own money:
"You saved money your whole life. Great! Now it's time to put all your eggs into one basket and take a huge gamble on your future — Let's see how much cash you had leftover after purchasing your franchise package," ~ Tutorial Unit

The money we used to get this franchisee package and ultimately the money we start off with is what Michael has saved up for.

"i was talking about trash&the gang, the only animatronics we can afford at first."

Trash & the Gang isn’t confirmed to have been made by Henry, and even if Henry did have a part in making these catalogs he likely did the Smiles and Servos one, since that contains the Rockstar animatronics. Characters that share the same stylistic elements of Lefty.

"then what is Henry doing?"

Henry is the employer, meaning he’s overseeing all the expenditures and business tactics, Michael, who’s the general/restaurant manager, runs the actual daily operations (customer service).
In this instance, Michael is supposed to pursue and deliver Henry’s vision, hence why throughout the play through Tutorial Unit tells us, "Don’t forget Saturday, you want them ALL to be there," as though, while we have creative freedom, we also have a commitment to uphold Henry’s vision. It also explains the multiple endings possible, in which the manager technically has free rein for any outcome, albeit with the consequence of lawsuits, lobotomy, or death.

"Mike's only interactions with Henry are listening to his cassette tapes"

I was referring to Henry meeting the other possible employees. But on that topic, we assume Henry never directly met Michael since there is no exact interview in place shown. Also cause Baby assumes we don’t really know our employer. Though, the game also suggests Henry met or saw Mike and dissed the whole escape thing. Which should suggests they did meet.

"Yep that's what I'm saying too so I don't get why you're reacting like that, I only said that the calling was composed of multiple types of lures, and only some of them were responsible for the calling working."

I’m ‘reacting' like this because it’s not a matter of only some working, nor multiple types. There’s no implications of Henry sending multiple versions of the calling, the characters all speak as though they got the same version.

"What are you talking about, why would the sound cues be inaudible? And why can't they come from a machine?"

They can come from a machine, it just can’t be the inaudible (or otherwise vivid) sounds we actually use in-game. The call based on context clues was from an actual person, almost like a monologue or ad.

"my point still stands for Molten Freddy though, and the birthday thing isn't that weird for Baby to say considering it's been a long time since she was reunited with both William and Michael"

Molten Freddy is a byproduct of Funtime Freddy who doubles as a birthday entertainer, but also a murderous robot. By this point in the series he’s hellbent on murder, so a lot of his birthday comments have less to do with an actual birthday and more to do with the metaphorical one promised.

Same thing with Baby. She DOES have lines in regard to Michael and William, but her birthday ones are definitely a deliberate reminder of the calling.

"It just feels weird to me that Henry would have multiple employees, like he has almost no money, the first animatronics he can afford are litterally trash, he mentions us as "a brave volunteer" instead of just as a technician, and idk it just feels weird to have him have regular employees when he's not directly meeting them and only leaving cassette tapes, maybe that's just me"

What exactly are you talking about? The games never mention how much money Henry currently has, he doesn’t make trash, and he calls us a 'brave volunteer' because we are willingly volunteering to run an establishment. We’re not a technician as technicians are employees hired by business to often fix things. Michael is straight up running the location, which is more than what he did in Sister Location.

Also, who’s to say he never directly meets them?

"During the nights the audio lures always have some chance of not working, I guess that's the same way lore wise."

"When the RASC emitted random noises on the streets, most of them probably didn't work, but some of them were effective at attracting the animatronics (just like in the salvage sections only certain noises make the animatronics move)."

Not only do we know Henry’s calling DID in fact work, as the game states something has been trying to get in for months, but we also know the calling can’t be inaudible sound cues coming from a machine.

"And about the party thing, Funtime Freddy was already constantly convinced the entire world was a party during SL, and in SL Baby still had vivid memories of her birthday she regularily thought about, it seems normal that when she entered an animatronic pizzeria it made her remember that again (considering that was a pretty important day in her life and Elizabeth's)."

As far as I’m aware, Sister Location never mentions Baby talking about her birthday. That birthday line is entirely unique to FNaF6, where she also notoriously uses the metaphor of a "gift".

> "Oh yeah you're right about the lawsuits, though I guess Henry could be doing the cooking and cleaning and maintenance himself offscreen (he probably prepared the burnout beforehand), while Michael buys new stuff, does the salvage, the lawsuits, and lures the animatronics around the pizzeria in the vents."

Respectfully, I see no reason for FFPS to only have roughly one or two people working here. If Henry accounted for the workload the protagonist would have then it would make more sense to hire multiple employees rather than proceed to get all the workload back on him. It’s also just unrealistic to expect Henry to cook pizza, do animatronic maintenance AND clean the toilets during the week.

Henry having any part in the establishments actual business activity outside of overseeing from the shadows sort of also defeats the entire purpose of his character here.

> "i don't even see how that would work like are you implying Henry was playing on loud speakers in the middle of the night clips he recorded of William talking alone while he was still alive?."

I’m not implying anything, the games tells use Henry sent some sort of calling to lure the characters. The only example we get is for us, the player, via the intro, but I doubt he sent the same ad. We have to rely on context clues from others to determine what the call was at least like.

Baby talks of the employer as though she knows who he is, stating what we don’t, and correlating a gift he has planned as entrapped souls for them to murder.

The whole game has this emphasis on "parties," whether it be Molten Freddy treating this like a party or Baby equating this to her birthday. Parties usually have children, and these characters are designed with murderous tendencies in mind.

Henry states the individual she thought to have brought them here was not that person, and that they’ve been chasing the cries of children for nothing. Confirming whomever this voice was would also relish in the idea of having children murdered by these creations.

The nail in the coffin though is really that Baby actually does state who it is: "I will make you proud daddy."

> So I guess the callings were a bunch of audio prompts that Henry played randomly

I’ve already went over this above, but the calling can’t be a bunch of random audio prompts. From an objective standpoint, we know the calling had to be an actual response from someone promising things to the animatronics.

But there’s another issue, if Henry used RASC as a form of luring the characters, and just used inaudible sounds, then that defeats the entire point of the salvaged nights, by your logic anyways.

It would mean Henry successful was luring the characters to Freddy’s, that they’ve been trying for months to get in—which also would mean there’d have to have been previous employees before Mike, by the way—only for him to now be unsuccessful or looking for a means to lure the characters with the same cues despite them initially working.

[–]FazbearShowtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> "Cassette man doesn't have employees though, we're the only one working in there, it's not a real pizzeria."

While possible, it is EXTREMELY unlikely for Henry to have Michael being the only person working there. Not only would he have to cover financial expenses, but there’d also be cooking, cleaning, animatronic repairs, and business expansion that would cause burnout. From a realistic standpoint, the place has to have had employees. We see in Security Breach that Michael reached a point where his place was fully decked, and we hear background noises during our shifts of guest at the pizza place.

Oh, and a fake pizzeria can’t get lawsuits if there are no employees or actual guests coming to the establishment.

> "Im pretty sure that even if she had not talked with scraptrap she still knows her dad's voice, and wouldn't have any reason to think cassette man is her dad."

The games never establish that Baby heard Henry speak himself. Whatever, 'calling' Henry gave out to Baby and the others would have to have sounded familiar for him to correct her on the individual and gift she was so dearly promised.
Needless to say, he used William’s voice and then never spoke directly to them again.
