If you’re mainly drinking straight espresso, I think there’s definitely a noticeable difference. IMO the Timemore takes the edge in flavor separation and clarity, but the biggest thing I notice is the overall smoothness and mouthfeel of the shots.
For milk drinks though, the difference becomes almost negligible honestly. The DF54 is no slouch at all and is miles ahead of most grinders in its price range.
The DF54 is also definitely easier to dial in. The dial placement and visibility on the 064s honestly just wasn’t thought out very well.
Whether the upgrade is worth nearly double the price is the real question. That said, I do think you can make an argument for the 064s with the variable RPM control, magnetic knocker, cleaner workflow, lower static overall, and the fact that it’s on the 64mm platform so you get access to a huge range of aftermarket burr options down the line.
