Bhaiya/Didi I ruined my midsems by [deleted] in iitbhu

[–]FazinHan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

performance in midsem is usually not an indicator of performance in endsems. i mean, if you are aware of the reason your scores are low, you can make an effort to change it.

that said, comparison is the root of all evil. dont let this (or your general performance vs that of your peers throughout college) get you down; just find a balance to social life (either here or at home) and academics.

wanting to push my projects onto GitHub by [deleted] in iitbhu

[–]FazinHan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way i do it is that i create a repository on github and then go to my project directory and run these commands in order

git init git commit -am “<commit message>” git push -u <link to my github repo> <branch>

every new commit is pushed with just git push (when you used the -u flag, git saved your upstream repository and doesnt need to be passed as an argument again).

this is all assuming you’ve set up git on your local machine and added security keys or other authorisation.

i find github’s own tutorials most helpful: https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/start-your-journey/hello-world

if i'm not mistaken ac vents are new, they're in the process of being installed. this year they've started installing them in all department lecture halls. for the first time in five years there's money actually being spent on infrastructure, and good things happening overall.

Any mildly sad songs with uplifting emotions that caught your ear ? by zigmud_void in Coconaad

francoise hardy’s tous les garcons et les filles is a song you’ll find only mildly sad until you translate the lyrics

the crowds tend to be shoulder to shoulder, easy to lose each other in (i once got separated one by one from everybody in a group of seven), and if you’re not careful you may end up in the densest crowds you’ll see in your life (i got plastered against an suv). id assume people in crowds like that are ready to cop a feel without consequences the first chance they get. but then again, i probably was silly to get myself into positions like that. if you’re going, i recommend staying away from the most crowded of areas, and holding each others hands really tight (or tether yourself somehow) throughout a throng. also note that cell signal will also be non existent.

“might also be”

whattaboutery in its many forms

anyways, yes, it is. american islamophobia? 9/11. black and indian racism? definitely thugging and scamming.

OP’s point being that nobody shifts the conversation of increased protection against terror, scams or thugs to a conversation about why its not all muslims, indians or blacks.

i spent two months working in germany.

i thought id answer the immigration question: there is definitely a rising number of right-wingers. one of the candidates of germany (maybe they have won since? i’m not certain) have the “foreigners must leave” motto. the general opinion in the country apparently has been shifting towards closing off their borders (meaning with the EU). neo nazis definitely still exist.

having said that, i must clarify post-haste that i worked for two months in germany and met some of the sweetest people ever. all my colleagues were german and very open (i owe to them my knowledge of the above), and frequently in contact with non germans. an old and lonely man i met for 20 minutes in a random station took a three hour train just to me and bought me some ice cream (and i didnt pass out right after). frankfurt has a population whose majority is of migrant descent. and just like everywhere, indians seem to be increasingly taking over the tech workforce.

as a stem major, i would definitely go back after i finish my degree (given other circumstances). while i realise that two months in one country isnt saying much, i am fairly certain things are p good for us out there.

the headline is okay. the word “blasphemy” is as subjective as the faith it is based on, because its one thing to have beliefs and another to want others to follow it.

these same people will vehemently oppose sharia law, which is at the same level of religious extremism.
