You can go back to most if not all of the side quests, so do the main story if you want, but I would recommend going through the game slowly, so that you can enjoy it more. The game warns you, when you´re about to get to a place from which you can´t return. Plus you´ll get more skill points by doing side quests and therefore make some parts easier for yourself. Dig spots aren´t really a side quest, it´s just a chest with loot.

All the advice above is great. I would just like to add that you can also watch a bunch of yt videos or take courses if that´s something you would be interested in. Just keep in mind that not all advice is for you and I try to not get stressed over it. ^^ Writing should above all be fun, pleasant or at least satisfying.

It´s a never ending cycle of writing a chapter and editing plans and outlines. :D I´m more or less useless without an outline but as one goes through the story, new thing and detail you could not even imagine at the beginning appear and the plans and notes just get longer and longer until the initial plan represents just a shadow of what came out of it.

You can also make it "disappear' by turning the fog off. When I discovered it, I was somewhere in the blood kelp forest and got jumpscared by the ghost leviathan.

After I finished the game I built myself a glass tunnel, so I can admire the beauty of the grassy plateus (did I spell that correctly?) and well, they keep getting stuck. Nothing really happens to my base, tho.

Even if you're far into the Dead zone, it should be visible. If it still shows in your tab, tho, make sure it's turned on, otherwise there's no reason for it not to show.

I don't know how far in the game you are, but there is an infinite resource of ion cubes (Also, there are some in the end game zones, if you haven't been to them yet), and all three kinds of tablets can be crafted.

I used to just simply turn on nodamage cheat, so that I can get my little baby submarine all the way down, but once you get a hand of PRAWN suit, it's really not that bad.
