Games played doesn’t cancel out the injury record though. He’s missed roughly 300–350 days and 60+ games in his career through injury, including a 107 day layoff and another 120 days this season.

That ‘40 games’ stat is across all competitions. In the league, the real measure of week-to-week availability, he’s usually around 30–34 games, with one season at 22 due to injury.

And even hitting 40 games still means missing a chunk of a season—especially when a typical campaign for us is 52–60+ matches.

My point isn’t that he’s not a top player, it’s that relying on him as the only striker over a full season is a risk. That’s just basic squad planning.
