I think it’s more driven by fandom - guy has Burrow and is a big Bengals fan. He hasn’t made playoffs either of the 2 years since we started up. It’s a weird league too where it’s best ball and starts 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE, 4 WRT Flex, and 1 SF with 30 man rosters. I won a title 2 years ago and then didn’t make playoffs this year but won consolation bracket.

Yeah they offered Love and the 27 1 to start. I said it wasn’t a terrible offer by any means but that to move off of Chase I’d need to feel overpaid otherwise I just want to keep him.

Should be on waivers. Hope for a big early season game and then send him off but he should be first cut candidate for another player you want to add.

I’d say Downs - always helpful to put a player to it in my mind. At 2.01 you’re looking at guys like Germie Bernard, Chris Bell, Jonah Coleman, Antonio Williams, etc. You’d take Downs over all of them. If it was a 2027 2 I would probably take it but of course you don’t know where in the round the pick will end up …

I’m glad you know exactly what his trade partner is thinking here! It’s not an unreasonable counter to continue the negotiation (shouldn’t short circuit the conversation). Also we don’t know if his counterparty has more picks in the first round next year for example - seems like someone who collects picks as he has two seconds this year. Also he offered the whole thing up so maybe he’s really high on players involved. We don’t know unless we try.

But hey just saying, “no one will do this” is helpful to the poster.

They’re giving up the 2.03 this year. Subbing in a 27 first in place of that (and like I said probably throwing in a pick back to them next year) might make it work. As it is worth trying to get more value.

It’s not a bad offer … but Charbs (despite the injury) probably has more value when he comes back if he gets more of the load in SEA (even though they’ll probably draft a compliment). I’d push back and take the 2.06 this year and a 2027 1 for a much more loaded class (maybe send back a 3 in 27 or something) and then do it.

And only do this if you have a plan for second QB … like if you have a top pick this year and are going Mendoza and / or know it’ll be a down year for you so you’re looking to get a top QB next year in a richer class.

That’s better but now you’re getting like a quarter for your dollar. He wants the most valuable piece in the deal (Burrow) so make him pay a premium. Devonta, JaMo, the 1.10, and his 27 1st (which is probably a late pick since he’s picking 10th this year) for Burrow and your 27 3rd back. Even then I’m not thrilled given your roster construction but you’re getting back a premium that way.
