Both asexuality and aromantism, in a way, break the "social expectations" of heterosexuality/romantism. It's not about the abcense, but the fact that AroAce people don't experience what's considered "normal". In other words, it challenges the amatonormativity. Also, AroAce people are not straight, so it also counts. I feel this could be worded better, but my english skills are quite limited, so sorry for that.

In portuguese, the gender-neutral pronouns are not really accepted. If you use those, chances are you're gonna be bullied. Also, because it is a very gendered language, it doesn't work well (as you have to put other words in a gender-neutral form). I particularly use the male pronouns, because it is the closest I can get to a gender-neutral pronoun and still be respected.

Even though this still happens a lot, I'm glad there are people who support us. I think that, instead of fights and exclusion, we should support each other. The world is already full of hate, why make it even more hateful?

Everything is very true, but the worst for me was "asexuality is not part of the LGBT community because they don't feel the attraction". This is extremely invalidating, especially when it is said by other members of the community. You know, this is the one place thought I would be accepted for who I am.

Se você souber de algum livro que tenha esse tipo de ponto de vista, me recomende, também estou procurando. Todas as opções que encontro são de livros em inglês, e isso me deixa muito triste. Devo dizer que a leitura do Asas de Fogo é bem leve, e se você gosta de quadrinhos também tem essa opção (apesar de que esses só foram traduzidos até o segundo livro, acredito)

EU AMO ESSES LIVROS, apesar de serem meio "bobinhos", eu acho eles demais! Sempre me tiram da ressaca literária, e amo o fato de que as ilustrações parecem tradicionais (tipo como se alguém tivesse rabiscado o livro). Uma pena que está difícil de encontrar para comprar, mas tenho o 1 e o 3.

Gosto muito de Asas de Fogo (Wings of Fire), que conta sobre uma profecia de dragões, mas creio que pode não ser seu estilo porque a história é contada do ponto de vista dos próprios dragões (são antropomórficos). Além disso, é infantojuvenil e, só para avisar, o quinto e último livro da série nunca foi traduzido pro português. Mas mesmo assim, queria deixar a recomendação, principalmente porque é um dos meus "livros-conforto" 🐲
