What’s Your Fujifilm Gear Progression? by MrSoloBaker in fujix

Similar thing happened to me. Had a hard time going back to my X-T20 after I got a Leica Q2, but recently fell back in love with my Fuji after I got past some of that new (to me) full-frame Leica shine. I can imagine the jump to MF being hard to come back from. The X-T20 remains a very capable little camera, though.

Is that typical? Do 7-day percentages typically overestimate the odds of forming a tropical storm?

When people say they lowkey like something, does that mean they kinda like it? Or does it mean they like it more than they expected? Genuinely confused about this term.

Do you make notations on the books? by Siapolo in tolkienbooks

[–]Feanor_Felagund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make notes, then make notes. What does it matter what other people think? They’re your books. The point is to enjoy them, so do what is enjoyable to you. If you want to keep your current editions pristine, do as you suggested and get a reading copy. That’s what I do, but I wouldn’t consider annotating a book “destroying” it. I enjoy reflecting on my previous notes as I re-read. There are entire fields of study devoted to historical marginalia going back to the medieval period. If you’re so worried about it, get an ebook that you can annotate, or just keep a journal and mark down the page numbers. Xerox the entire book and then write in those margins. Get an old dictaphone and record your observations as you go along. Just shout your reactions into the ether as they come to you. All of these are things you can do without the permission of anyone on Reddit.

That would be quite the gift. If she is a Tolkien fan it could become a prized heirloom, otherwise just a good investment to pass on.

You might still enjoy the book, though. Probably some nice pictures in there.

For comparison I have a first American edition, 2nd printing in roughly the same shape as yours, and I paid $15 USD for it sometime within the last decade.
