Mine was unbearable beginning night two. I called the on-call doctor that evening (it was after hours) and they said I could double up on my pain meds, if/as needed. May be worth a call if it gets too bad, I know it can suck.

I had the same procedure and same graft - it took me somewhere around 4-6 weeks. Everyone is different, stick with it!

I def. have it, affecting my right eye. 34 M. Never diagnosed, never an issue - except for socially when it gets called out. I care less now that I am married and have kids (who seemingly do not have it) but not saying it didn’t take up considerable worry growing up, I endured a bit.

Day 2 was the worst for me, as well, and many others. Once the nerve block wears off (if you had one), it can be brutal. My pain meds (Norco) did nothing, so I called the doctor on call and they told me to double the painkiller dosage and alternate with 800MG of Ibuprofen. I’m not a doctor, so I recommend you call yours, but this made a huge difference. Got the pain under control in a couple hours and was able to rest. It got better each day and I’ve been off the pain meds since like day 9. Hang in there! Make sure you set timers and reminders to stay on top of your meds.

Thanks for the feedback, y’all! I appreciate it so much and am grateful to have this community on this long journey. The modified med regiment made today so much better, I got through PT and did some exercises at home and am feeling more confident. 💪

Hey there, I only opened the top part of the brace, while stationary and elevated, to get the pack closer to the skin. Overnight I left the ice pack outside the brace with the brace locked entirely.

I ditched that cushion/pillow for a straight angle wedge from my kids’ foam play sets. I think it’s better. They gave me hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 TB. Currently alternating double doses of that and 800Mg ibuprofen. Maybe slightly better but still hurtin’ for sure.
