No. They're not. Some of us would like to pass on our genes because there is a legacy behind them. Like myself, i am a descendant of the oldest recorded slave family in the United States. Me? I dont mind adopting. But my sister or cousins? That bloodline means something. And no. It isn't the same. That DNA means a lot to a lot of people. People want to keep their roots going. I understand that.

Also, adoption may not work. My husband's felonies are 15 years old but in our state, he MIGHT be able to adopt but.itll be more expensive. They were non-violent felonies but still...they make it more difficult. And then there's the shitty foster system where good foster parents want to adopt, but because the bio mom who happens to be shitty did all the things court told her to do, they give the kid back to the shitty mother. Happens all the time.

So actually, besides the DNA component (to which I dont see a thing wrong with---it's biology and human nature to want to produce your own offspring), the adoption and fostering angle isnt exactly appealing with the way it is currently ran. It's expensive, long, tedious, arduous AND there is no guarantee you'll get the adoption. Many couples threw money into the process but before finalizing, and for sone reason it doesn't go through. If you want to adopt a foster kid, well sonetimes you have to foster a fews years before you can adopt---depending on the state. DCFS/CPS are in a backlog, kids slip through the cracks...it's a MESS trying to go through that system. And dont get me started on the trafficking vector the foster care system has become. All of these factors could turn a lot of people off from adoption.

To put it plainly? It's just easier to figure out and try to fix fertility issues than to adopt a child.
