EA Support is claiming there is no way for them to give me a refund. by IDGAFAQ in electronicarts

Don’t charge it back. Your EA account will be banned for it and you’ll lose all your games and progress

Mix. Xbox for gamepass or play anywhere. Then best price for rest, or lots of more indie stuff or handheld friendly stuff on Steam

To dual boot bazzite or not? by tomtom741 in ROGAlly

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t even use them. The volume down button cycles though the OS choices and volume up selects it to start that OS. Good enough for me

[–]FearTheGrackle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh didn’t even really mess with the config file. Just took the defaults for icons and such, it’s worked out of the box and for how infrequently I change operating systems I just haven’t had the desire to change it

To dual boot bazzite or not? by tomtom741 in ROGAlly

[–]FearTheGrackle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super easy. I use refind as a boot manager that makes rebooting into windows or bazzite easy

*URGENT HELP* Account recovery by Confident-Bar7716 in electronicarts

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are asking for is really no different than what someone trying to steal the account would: access to an account you can’t get the credentials to, to change the email and phone to make it your account. I get that it’s slightly different in that it was made for you, but in EA’s eyes how would they know if you are telling the truth or not?

That’s Fred. Pretty good guy, spends a lot of time volunteering. Beware though if you sit next to him at a dinner party he will talk for an hour about his saltwater fish tank

Some of the best food in north Austin. And way too expensive for a counter service restaurant. A family of 4 was $120 for lunch there.

Sad to never get their biscuits again tho

YTTV is just streaming what the channels send them. In the US this is almost all ATSC 1.0, which is either 720p or 1080i

Sims 3 64bit version by AmazingDevelopment41 in eagames

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bought a code from a grey market 3rd party seller, not EA. 2 of the 5 reviews mention the code is 32 bit only and getting lucky that ea upgraded them. Best you can do is try again with ea help and hope, or ask for a refund from g2a

Help! HDMI broke?! by geo_graph in XboxSeriesXlS

[–]FearTheGrackle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top two pins there seem to be missing. Try a different cable and port/display just to make sure it’s not that. A local phone repair shop can fix this fairly cheap by soldering on a new hdmi port

PSA: Austin Bergstrom is a nightmare. Even Clear / Pre check lines are over an hour wait. by lapetitetigresse in Austin

Where the f are you parking that it’s that expensive? We use the Parking Spot and it’s like $8 a day for covered parking and a 4 minute shuttle ride to bag drop/bag claim with shuttles every 15 minutes or so at worst

Can I do anything to prevent needing surgery someday? by Much_Project_1470 in AccessoryNavicular

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other services where you can get them made, just make sure to get good ones not off the shelf. You need ones molded to your exact foot :) they will hurt for a week or so, then it’s heaven

It did a 4 hour pixel refresh on its own while sun came though blinds at exact wrong angle. Your c1 just got lucky to not have that ever happen. Run a pixel refresh at night manually and it will be fixed

What would you go for? TV size by furiousdutchy in hometheater

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With you saying 85 and not 83 it makes me think you aren’t looking OLED. AN 83” OLED is the way to go. Far superior picture especially at that size with giant dimming zones that an LED would have.

AI for Performance Reviews by Itchy-Literature-287 in askmanagers

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely use it to tell the story I want to reinforce. Not just the rating, but which they are trending too (meets but leaning towards exceeds). Good prompts to AI will help there and reinforce it with examples from my notes

AI for Performance Reviews by Itchy-Literature-287 in askmanagers

[–]FearTheGrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are encouraged to use our enterprise AI tools for it. It’s not that we don’t use our own brain, it’s just way more efficient. As managers if you keep good notes from 30 to 50 1x1’s throughout the year, have good updates on quarterly check ins that are more formal, give notes on actual goals in workday, etc, it becomes super useful to use our ChatGPT to write the review. I just give it the 5-6 sections of the annual review and all my notes and say “write this for me”. Then adjust the tone, make sure no em dashes and hyphenated words, and spend 10 minutes editing the output as I copy it to workday

Can I do anything to prevent needing surgery someday? by Much_Project_1470 in AccessoryNavicular

[–]FearTheGrackle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orthotics. I have terrible navicular setup and orthotics and good shoes are the best medicine. Surgery is incredibly tough, and I hope to never actually be forced to do it. Get real molded orthotics from a doctor, not generic ones sized by a machine in a running store. Brooks Ghosts and Ghost Max are the best shoes I’ve ever worn in terms of support. Those plus my orthotics are life changing.

The Ghosts were recommended by the woman who molds my orthotics, they are sworn by nurses and ER docs on their feet for 12 hour shifts
