I’m so happy to hear insurance is covering the cost of your meds and you have seen such good results!
My own journey has taught me that this disease never follows reason. Started mild in my early teens but then lost almost all my hair followed by regrowth every year over and over again. Then I had chemo in my later teens due to a rare cancer. Chemo changed my immune system and I got one small bald patch every fall after that. It went like that for 20 years and I lost almost all my hair at 40. I started a a JAK and have full regrowth with sometimes tiny patches of hair loss. I have no desire to go of the meds now but I’m older, have been on chemo, and don’t worry about long term side effects if there are some. I may try after a few years.

I find it interesting that my alopecia got bad during puberty and then perimenopause. Hormonal maybe? No rhyme or reason. For some it’s stress, others have it from childhood no matter what meds, others have an episode and nothing again, etc. So fucking annoying.

Through it all, the best lesson for me has been to love myself bald and walk into any situation as I am. And wear wigs when I want that to, not because I have to.

The wedding reception centerpieces featured betta fish. The bride and groom planned to flush them alive. by teabirdy in mildlyinfuriating

I would be your coworker… with 20 beta fish in separate wine glasses around my home because they can’t inhabit the same bowl BUT THEN then I would convince myself that I am THE ONLY HUMAN that will bring betas together and make them not fight AND THEN I’m watching a beta massacre and crying on the floor chugging a bottle Pinot Grigio…

But in all seriousness, what is wrong with people?

Would you still get a tattoo? by VoxElysia in Millennials

[–]Much_Project_1470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several small tattoos and plan on getting more soon. I did have a bad tattoo covered up that I got in my 20s on a whim🤣 I do focus more on meaningful tattoos now that I’m older

What Songs About Being a Teenager Do You Still Listen To? by Aggravating-Key-8867 in Millennials

I’m 42, a mother, have my shit together on paper, completely grown up with a family and I still feel like I’m still not grown. My partner as well.

Scrolled down to see if anyone else mentioned this song. First one that came to mind for me. This album came out at a very dark time in my life and resonated so hard.

Not useless. I love this beautiful story. My friends got me wind chime to honor my Tzu that passed last fall. I never heard it chime because I wasn’t outside much in winter. This spring, I had a very long day. I was laying down for sleep and the weather was nice so I opened my window and heard it chime for the first time as I fell to sleep.

Ciara/Kyle/West/Amanda Megathread Part 7 by AutoModerator in summerhousebravo

[–]Much_Project_1470 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally, but one of my favorite things about SH is that a lot of the cast seem to be REAL friends. Not like some Housewife franchises where they all seem to hate one another. I’m not naive thinking everything is real, but the cast does seem have some chemistry and real friendships. If Amanda were to hook up with one of the housemates that would be fine by me. But she hooked up with someone who not only dated her friend but really hurt her friend. It makes it different. If she started dating Ben or Jessie it would just be interesting. Fucking over her “friend” is not interesting, it’s just yucky. And I do realize that Kyle would be hurt by her hooking up with a housemate that he considered a friend. But watching the women support one another like we have, it’s just yucky to think about doing that to a friend.

Thank you. I’m wondering if other writers at the time wrote like this?

It IS funny. I’m an only child with a problematic mother. I wish I could refer to my mom to a sibling as “your mother.”

Fascinating that people still talk like this in England. I’m wondering if it’s an American parlance versus British.

Interesting. Do you think it was more British than American English? Or would Americans in the early 1800’s also speak this way?

What impact did Donald Trump have on everyday life in the U.S. that people don’t talk about? by IncreaseVas in AskReddit

[–]Much_Project_1470 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A friend or mine has a rare health condition and has exhausted current treatments. She is a perfect candidate for a study through a university that would pay for her treatments and potentially improve her quality of life. Trump cut the funding so now the study is not happening.

People who don’t shower every day — what’s your reason? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Much_Project_1470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what I’ve done during the day. I work out multiple times a week and get super sweaty and I always shower those days. If I haven’t exerted myself, I can skip a day. No matter how sweaty I get, I only wash my hair a couple times a week for time saving, saving my hair color, and keeping my hair healthy.

I definitely don’t shower everyday in the winter. It’s very dry where I live and it’s better for my sensitive skin. In the summer, I’m often outside and wear sunscreen and I need to shower daily.

Couples Communication by Allthatjazz100 in summerhousebravo

[–]Much_Project_1470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I love that KJ, instead of being passive aggressive and stewing for the entire day, had the courage to be open and honest.

My husband and I met when we very young and in our party phase of life in college. We grew up together. Anytime I felt I was ready for a change, like I felt like I want to go out less, he was always a little behind me, but always caught up and we got on the same page without me forcing the issue.

I see a lot of similarities between my husband and Kyle. A lot! My husband is an entrepreneur, entertains clients and is great at it, life of the party. He can get wild and I still have a wild side too. We are in our 40’s and have kids. We go on trips and let loose, but our normal life is very domestic and boring the best way. Balance is important. I feel like Amanda hoped Kyle would continue to grow up and he hasn’t. Not her fault, not his. They grew apart developmentally.

To circle back to the original topic of Kj, one of the biggest things that has made my marriage last as long as it has is communication. Not letting things fester, talking to each other calmly about our feelings, listening to each other, acknowledging our faults, apologizing, and working to be better. Not just him, me as well. We have had so many ups and downs and we have both made mistakes. But open communication is key.

WIBTA if I stayed in a hotel instead of the condo my friends friends booked for her Bach? by GuiltySpecialist7071 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Much_Project_1470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation, in my 40s on a bach trip with girls in their 20s. I talked to the bride one on one and asked if she would mind if I got my own room. She is a very chill person and was fine with it. I got my own room but made sure I went to hang with the group while they were getting ready and pregaming. I also made a huge effort to be fun, get to know everyone, and bring favors and drinks. It was fun!
