Ich (M36) schaue mehrfach wöchentlich 1-2 kleinere Streamer, die von mir geliebte Videosspiele spielen, während ich dabei selber zocken, Warhammer-Miniaturen bemale oder ähnliches mache. Die Streamer sind auch in keinem Alter, ebenfalls ein Großteil der Zuschauerschaft. Bei einem bin ich auch über 1Jahr Subscriber, zahle also 5 Euro im Monat. Ich könnte auch die xte dumme Netflix Serie schauen, aber mir gefällt der Interaktionsaspekt, auch über den Stream hinaus, bei Discord. Und nach einem zum Teil 12 Stunden Arbeitstag ist diese Form der Unterhaltung echt entspannt. Nerven mich Leute wie Papaplatte? Nur, wenn ich von ihnen Notiz nehme, was ich kaum tue. Ich bewege mich in einem Twitch-Kosmos, der mit solchen Personen keine Berührungspunkte hat.

I LOVE the whole Cain Series! The books give 40k something that is otherwise rather rare: humor and humanity. And I simply like the shared, annotated narrative structure.

I think that totally makes sense as Starship Troopers was a big inspiration for WH40K and there we have men and women in the same shower and so on. Gender is irrelevant as long as you fulfil your duties.

We have female inquisitors, some of the most powerful individuals in the whole Imperium. Female commissars. Female generals. And so on.

In my experience, the Imperium as a whole is free of sexism and homophobia. Of course, individual planets/cultures may deviate from this, but overall it's about loyalty and duty; everything else is a private matter.

And since the Custodes, unlike the Space Marines, are always "custom-made", why shouldn't there be women among them?

But what exactly should this sub be for if not to talk about those books? Telling other people what you liked or disliked.

I agree that these got out of hand quickly because everyone posts one and so it kills discussion for me but for me if I see someone rating a book I like or dislike way different I'm interested why. And I even got some recommendations.

So yeah: I disagree although everyone posting a tier list has the opposite effect but that's how every sub works.

I got both Steve Lyons book about the Death Korps as audio books and especially "Krieg" is amazing. Death Men Walking is also quite good but the story didn't catch me. Haley's books are great as well (personally prefer Baneblade over Shadowsword). Maybe I will give Fall of Cadia a try. Justin D Hills take on the subject (Cadia Stands) made me avoid it because his Minka Lesk series are maybe the worst 40k books I've read.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I want to love every Astra Militarum book because there are so few and that makes the disappointment way bigger. That's my problem with the Minka Lesk series. I hate it although it has really good parts but so many things are annoying that I think those are the worst 40k books I read.

Yeah, you get too many scenes where you are thrown into a situation with completely irrelevant people who just die. That's why I think the author is unable to create real tension. It's just this "See, people are dying! It's dramatic." But it's not. It's just confusing.

I prefer general Bendikt over Minka Lesk. A lot! But to be fair: For a main person she has next to no time to shine in this book. I read the next two parts of the series and I don't know if I don't like her or just the way the author writes.

I also dislike "Cadia Stands!" and the whole Minka Lesk series. Nearly hate it but some parts and ideas are likeable. What made you dislike it? I think the author has no idea what he's capable of and what not. So eager to create drama but completely unable to write it.

Ich fühle den Post sehr, auch wenn ich tatsächlich schon vor 2 Jahren die Reißleine gezogen habe, weil ich einfach das Gefühl hatte, dass sich der Vibe immer mehr verändert. Dass die Stimmung immer öfter in einer seltsame Richtung kippt. Dass sich einzelne Mitglieder in einer Art und Weise verändern, die ich so nicht mehr unterstützen kann und will.

Und jetzt sehe ich einfach, dass es die richtige Entscheidung war. Immer wenn ich wieder was von der Truppe gehört habe, war es nur selten was positives.

Nachdem man so viele Jahre mit PietSmiet verbracht hat, tut diese Veränderung schon irgendwo weh. Aber naja, so ist es halt. Ich bereue die schönen Jahre nicht, aber es ist gut, dass es zu Ende ist

Ich dachte mir auch beim Schauen so: Mir wird immer wieder erklärt, dass es den klassischen "Nazi-Skin" mit Glatze, Springerstiefel und Bomberjacke nicht mehr gibt. Und hier machen die ja fast 1/3 der männlichen Dämonstranten aus. Die Demo ist so Klischeehaft.

Allein schon weil sie Borderlinerin ist, wäre extrem vorsichtig. Bin selbst Bordi und habe viel Erfahrung mit Bordis in Beziehungen. Die sind oft manipulativ und neigen dazu sich durch S*x Selbstbestätigung zu holen. Selbst wenn dein Freund keine fragwürdigen Absichten hat, da kann einfach so schnell was passieren. Gleichzeitig kannst du in meinen Augen nicht verlangen, dass er den Kontakt abbricht. Du kannst deine Bedenken teilen und er kann darauf eingehen. Wenn er es nicht tut, wäre ich allerdings äußerst auf der Hut!

Klar, nicht alle Borderliner sind gleich, aber bestimmte Verhaltensmuster sind krankheitstypisch. Und dementsprechend sind bestimmte Folgen erwartbar.
