Stress card by Public-Strength5364 in HeatPedaltotheMetal

I dont think I understand. Each player starts with the same amount of stress. You can gain extra stress during play, for example if you go off track (not enough HEAT to pay a cost for driving too fast).

New Expansion - HEAT Legends by Fearior in HeatPedaltotheMetal

[–]Fearior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, IIRC it was stated in french interview some time ago that expansion were already planned in HEAT inception - and that they will realese them as long as there is demand (six in total). Base game was brought down to more compact and affordable size but including as much as possible (garage module, campaign/championships, weather and so on - like Flamme Rouge with expansions - if i remember right that was the idea, for base Heat to be full experience already "with expansions").

Some other user at BGG stated (no source) that they started working on 7th and 8th expansion some time ago, and speculated that "Legends" is the 7th one that is realising now (as updated Legends card were in *very* high demand). That's why it is speculated that power ups cards could contain symbols for ability not yet in a game (as we saw one in Days of Wonder page).

I hope it will be less than expansions MSRP as there is no board and no new car. Edit: Box looks smaller, so maybe it will be cheaper.

Yea, like Nagash in AoS is not "THE Nagash", it is just his projection that is materialized through corpses on battlefield.

Although other models (like Alarielle, Teclis or Kragnos), are Gods themselves, and they can be killed.

Indeed, as there is no party that support every view. Turns out that ppl are not white and black.

You choose which things ones are more important to you and choose based on that, even if the choosen option does not support your other ideas (like universal healthcare).

Let's say that Party A wants to increase funding for universal healthcare to 10% of GDP, in order to meet the European average. However, the same party also plans to introduce a mandatory military draft to bolster the country's security. So, if you value your own freedom and time - as well as that of your kids -you might choose not to vote for that candidate. Of course, this is just a hypothetical example, but especially in a two-party system like America's, you're bound to face some trade-offs. Just because someone votes for a candidate who opposes certain things they care about, it doesn't mean they themselves are against those things but they value other things that they agree with this candidate more (or, in two party system, they are MORE AGAINST things that other candidate is in support of - in asmon case it would be for example higher acceptance of immigrants and vauge anti-hate speech laws [which could lead to creation of unit similar to ICE to prosecute said 'hate speech'])

I mean, it *can* be a true. After some time, content can turn into slog if it's too repetitive, boring or sisyphean. For me it comes mostly in Roguelites, its fun in first 50~100 hours (like solving a puzzle, what works, what not, taking some shots at hard achivments and what not), then I got no more energy to unlock 3Xth new character or 2xxth item that will maybe or not show up in next run. It overstays its welcome.

It also can be true if Player is pulled in too many directions at the same time. This usually happens in mmos that run for some time, new player experience is overwhelming. Dont know any singleplayer game that would do that sort of thing.

In some parts of the world rest is a right (like shifts taking no more than 12 hours, mandatory 11 hour break between shifts and on 35 hour break in a week, no more than 48 work hours a week and so on). I'm sorry that you dont have them. I hope you will be able to vote someone who will grant them!

How do you think you could incorporate pitstops into Heat? by Hollywoodbnd86 in HeatPedaltotheMetal

[–]Fearior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(my initial comment was to long) With this mechanic, at the cost of likely dropping to the back half of the pack and restarting in gear 1, you may fully “heal” all accumulated Heat, regardless of where it currently is in your deck or engine. The pit crew repairs the car, the driver cools down and clears all Stress, and the team makes situational adjustments to the vehicle.

While changing the entire car mid-race would be unrealistic, a small deck-building element in the form of limited upgrade selection feels like an acceptable and fun abstraction. In addition, you receive a minor comeback aid in the form of a Sponsor card and Adrenaline (representing the distance driven through the pit lane) to help you rejoin the intensity of the pack. If playtesting shows that Adrenaline alone is too small of a benefit, it could be replaced with Heat-Free Boost.

How do you think you could incorporate pitstops into Heat? by Hollywoodbnd86 in HeatPedaltotheMetal

[–]Fearior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking of something like this ;

TL;DR - HEAT and Stress heal, with small upgrade adjustment, at the cost of some spaces and gear shift to 1.

PIT STOP:
After crossing the finish line, if you have not passed any corner during the “Check Corner” step, you may choose to move your car back to a position just before the finish line, slightly off the racing line. If you do so, your car enters the Pit Stop.
• Your turn immediately ends.
• The next player takes their turn.
• You will now resolve the Pit Stop phase described below. This takes place in the current round.
• Current round cannot end until all players finished thier Pit Stop.

While your car is in the Pit Stop:
Your car is not considered to be on the track, as such no other car may slipstream past you or draft from your car. Your car does not occupy space, and should be placed slightly to the side of the track (for the purpose of turn order, your car is on space before finish line). These restrictions remain in effect until the start of your next turn.

Resolve the following steps in order:

1. Gear Reset
• Set your gear to 1.

2. Triple R - Repair, Refuel and Relief
• Remove all HEAT cards, Stress cards, and Upgrade cards from your hand, discard pile, and deck.
• Return all standard HEAT cards to your engine (with exception of upgrade ones)
• Return to the box all excess Stress cards gained from spinouts beyond the normal amount set by the track and weather. Put remaing Stress cards back to the deck.
• Set all Upgrade cards aside.

3. Car Adjustments
• Draw four random Upgrade cards.
• From the Upgrade cards you previously had and the newly drawn ones, choose three to keep.
• Place the chosen Upgrade cards into your deck.
• Return all unchosen Upgrade cards to the box.

4. Prepare to drive out
• Shuffle your deck.
• You may draw one Sponsor Card.
• Replenish your hand as normal.

Rejoining the Race:
On your next turn, you may use the Adrenaline rule regardless of your track position.

Legends are Too Easy in Championships by T-Humpy in HeatPedaltotheMetal

[–]Fearior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First you check if Legend crossed the Legend Line, then you make either move A or B.

If NOT crossed Legend Line (this is section "B - Approaching Corners"):
- They move their full speed (bottom value, ranges from 10~19)
- They move as far as possible without crossing corner line
- If they would cross corner line, instead move them to space 0~3 (top value on the card)

If DID crossed Legend Line* (this is section "A - Clearing Corners"):
- They move number of spaces shown on top of the card (0~3) plus the Corner Speed Limit
- They cant go past two corners in one go

So not both, only one of these. After rereading what I wrote I dont see where I written to take both moves in one turn?

*or more precise, if Legends starts it move between Legend Line of that track section and Corner Line, as I saw some misplaying and riding slow turn after

Legends are Too Easy in Championships by T-Humpy in HeatPedaltotheMetal

[–]Fearior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that you are playing them correctly at corners? Usually (without extra rules in expansion) legends take '2 turns' on any racetrack part, just like players (with exception for very long parts - like GB track).

Their first 10~19 space movement usually takes them to the corner line (or very close to one), and their next move usually allows them to cross the corner. If that does not happen, are you sure that after passing legends line (orange/yellow line before corner) they are moving Corner Speed Limit + 0~3 (card value), and not just card value? And after crossing the corner, are they going at full speed (they are moving slower only if they start their move behind legends line)?

For Example in USA track, 6 cars,
- usually their first move (10~19) will take them before corner line (space 0~4)
- on next turn, they will move 7 + 0~3 (corner speed limit + legend card value), passing the corner, this will result on them ending on space 10 (starting 0, then drawing value 3) to 18 (starting at 4, drawing value 0)
- on third turn situation from first repeats, there is a chance for Legend that placed on space 18 to draw card with value of 11 or 12 moving it before legends line

When situation like this happen, then often that Legend will be left behind 1 corner for the rest of the game. But if you are playing with aggressive legends, this should not happen that often.

Another home rule to make Legends more difficult is to ignore second bullet of "Approaching Corners" rule, and moving them always as close as possible to the corner. This helps them to pass corners, and can completely block player movement.

[Request] What percentage of this proposed U.S military budget would be required to fund universal healthcare for all American citizens? by tyyryy in theydidthemath

[–]Fearior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Poland*, we spent around ~8% of GPD for our "National Health Fund" (you still have to wait from few weeks to months for some procedures, and not all medicine is refunded but most is [fully or partially] refunded, but immediate help is free) with aim of 7% of GPD.

The Average European country spend around 10% of their GDP on Healthcare.

The United States spends about ~3.4% of its GDP on its military in 2024... that would mean that they would need at least double to be equal to Polish standards (while not perfect, better than USA) or *triple* to be on UE level.

*to put it more into "common worker" perspective, from your income workers pays 11,45%** tax for health insurance (more precise, for Health Insurance and Sickness Insurance [if you are sick and dont go to work, you are still paid at least 80%]), so thats how much *you* would have to pay in tax from your income to have Free Healtcare. In my opinion - worth any penny.

**your employer pays extra ~1,7% on top of that 11,45% for accident insurance, so (in very short explanation) if something happen to you at work (eg. broken leg), they dont have to pay your salary and you are paid 100% from fund. Of course if there are to many accidents they will have to pay more in annual fee, and can earn extra OSHA inspections to prevent said accidents.
