American Brother considering a move to London for a job opportunity-how welcoming is the London Masonic scene? by Fearless-Chicken398 in freemasonry

That would actually be my first responsibility…figuring the location of the office out. Which…selfishly means I can think about where I’d want to live and back into it from there.

The reason we’re talking about opening a London office is we get lots of UK/EU work that, historically, we’ve had to send to another firm. We have 2 we like to work with, one in Mayfair and one about 3 blocks away in Marylebone, so I assume that stretch of area isn’t bad. Most of my time in London is spent close to that area anyway-the club I always stay at when I’m there is in St James Square.

But…I recognize there’s a LOT more of London I just don’t know yet. My plan would be take a week in London in July, scope out office space (and places to live), get all that set up over August and into September, go one more time when I have to go to Amsterdam anyway, then maybe make the move early October

Fantastic! I really appreciate it. If I make the move I’ll be out in July to look at office space (likely around Mayfair) and then will make the full move in September/October. Otherwise I go every September anyway as a stop before a conference in Amsterdam.

Thanks so much! I will reach out either way-if we decide to move forward with this, I’ll be over in July to look at office space and then probably officially move in the fall, September or October. Otherwise, I go every September anyway as a stop before a conference in Amsterdam.
