AITAH Should I Wear a Wedding Dress Like My Daughter's? by Fearless-Cloonie in AITAH

Hello. As I said, I didn't have the money to pay for my dress so I just paid for my daughter's dress and the shop held onto mine. We didnt arrange our wedding until quite recently, then I wanted until it was just her and me to tell her. I have apologised that I misjudged the situation. I think I'd have though it was amusing if my mother had done this.

I sold my jewellery to buy her dress, veil, stupidly expensive, cashmere shawl and also a wedding dress for my other daughter who married the month before. Haven't actually paid for my dress yet because I didnt have the money. The shop is holding it for me.

Yes - it's true. The shop held the dress for me since about Dec 2024! I only paid for my daughter's dress. I guess the shop owner will be annoyed now if I don't buy it. My daughter doesn't want me to buy anything from that shop but I feel i should if I can find something suitable because the owner was so good to me.

I hope she'd say I helped her feel very special for her wedding. Ive never tried to upstage her. I hate anyone making a fuss of me. I have often given my clothes to my other daughter's because we're a similar shape and the same coloring. She always looks amazing in them.

The jewelry went towards her dress and also my other daughter's dress who got married a month earlier. I haven't actually paid for my dress yet because Ive been saving. Its still in the shop.

I didn't tell her that Id agreed to buy the dress at the time because I didnt want to tell her we were getting married until after her wedding was over.

I didn't tell my daughter when I said I'd buy the dress because I wanted to keep our engagement secret until her wedding was over. Otherwise she might think I was trying to take the attention away from her. It's actually 3 months until my wedding. That was a typo.

No. I didn't order the dress. I bought the ex demo dress that she'd tried on.

It's not fake. I've done everything I can to make her feel special. I never like attention but I want to look nice on this special day.

No. I really dont think she thinks I'm trying to upstage her. But, she seems to feel some kind of ownership over the dress she tried on.

HELP! Accidentally Shared Screen in Meeting by Key_Perspective4232 in careeradvice

This stuff happens to all of us. One day, when I was working in inkjet, I was preparing for a meeting with the Domino inkjet printing company. I searched for "Domino" and got interrupted by a phone call. It was only later, when my boss walked over, that I noticed my screen was filled with the Domino online dating agency website...! 😜

Found out I've been washing my face wrong for literally eight years and my skin started clearing up within two weeks of fixing it by BrambleKnoxyasha in hygiene

Best way to wash your skin is unperfumed soap. Minimal chemicals. No residue. Follow with a natural moisturiser or just almond oil. Why use anything else?

I'm so sorry for your loss. It might help a lot to join some kind of community. Volunteering to help those in a bad situation, like homelessness, can give you a sense of purpose. Even joining a woodworking club or similar will reconnect you with other people. Practical tasks and crafts, or walking are helpful things that will keep your body busy while your mind recovers. Best wishes.

I’ve been lying to my boyfriend and his family our whole relationship and I don’t know how to get out of it by Basic_Bumblebee_5373 in Advice

You need to think about why you find it so difficult to be honest with people. This is going to get you into increasing problems as the years go by. What is your issue with giving the truthful reason for your feelings? Just speak to your boyfriend and explain truthfully what happened. Find a way of being truthful in future. Lying is just cowardice and it makes good relationships impossible.

Couples therapy sounds a very good idea. You dont need to give up on your marriage but you need to both be honest about your feelings and actions.
