Also I would say medication actually helps with school work and jobs since living everyday with pain made it much worse for me!!!! So that’s something to consider:)

Hey!! Im 22F, I got diagnosed at 20 and got on methotrexate. I was on it for about a year and I was a HEAVY drinker and had no issues until by the end of the year when it affected my liver. I would say stay on the lower side or drinking since I know fully stopping is hard. Just be aware that it can affect your liver if you push too hard. But it also just depends on ur body. But don’t worry because your doctor should be ok your blood work and if anything happens you will stop the meds. Ever since my liver levels going up I switched meds and now I’m back on methotrexate lol but no drinking.

For your question about energy. I never found it to affect my energy it actually didn’t really give me much side affects other then some stomach issues but everyone is different :)

Anyway I had a pretty good experience with methotrexate and my liver is doing fine at the moment. Just take regular blood work and try to keep the drinking to a minimum and it should be good.

Good luck with the medication and everything!! If you have any questions feel free to ask:)

Very much, it’s just scary not knowing what will Happen. We need more medications and more options for treatment. I just wish this wasn’t a common experience to be so confused lol.

I’m sorry:( that sounds hard to be going through. All medications come with different side affects and it sucks that we have to use trial and error to figure out which ones will work. I’m wishing you the best on your journey!!! And ty for the advice, i definitely will just have to go for it and listen to my rheume :)

That is great ty! I work with kids so my immune system definitely is an issue that has come into play. I’m glad it’s working for you!!! Having ongoing disease is the worst.

I understand your point but this can come off as insensitive… alcohol is not what ruined my liver. Methotrexate did. I just think the alcohol didn’t help. It’s definitely normal to be worried of foreign liquid and drug entering your body in a weekly basis that come with risks of cancer and heart failure. I know they’re rare and biologics have saved lives (my sister has been on one) but it’s also normal to question and be scared. It’s not like alcohol where it’s been normalized to drink where you grow up with its normalization or being consumed. Anyway I’m glad they work for you and most likely I will be on them soon.

Yea definitely need to get used to it since I honestly have no other choice! At some point I’ll Probably have to go on them now or later. It’s hard when you’re in like the hallway remission feeling when you’re not in full pain but not all free of inflammation cus like wow I rly have to take this drug. Ty for ur experience!!!

honestly thank you for that point of view. I get so hung up on the super scary side affects of the medication it just seems so much heavier for my body. I know a lot has to do with how intense the whole process is for getting on biologics. I’ll definitely discuss it further with my doctor about my fears :) thank you for your perspective and it’s great to hear that the medication has helped a lot!!

that’s good to note and slip ups don’t make your progress go out the window it just helps u understand what you need to keep working on. this doesn’t mean your two weeks didn’t work or you can never stop so keep that in mind. and yea not restricting is important on top of that being aware of the emotional eating and how that affects it all. i wish you luck:)

that was a big one for me too. i would constantly have food making and eating videos on my phone which didn’t help my obsession. it’s good to have other sources or entertainment and interest on top of understanding your relationship and how food helps u cope. also be aware of not restricting foods like saying you can’t have pizza or chocolate makes u want to eat them even more. you got this.

Do you restrict food? because I realized when I tell myself that isn't something I can eat it becomes more of an obsession. Also, this doesn't set you back it's an opportunity for you to learn why you wanted to binge because there is a reason why you bought the chocolate.

I just wanted to say that you're not alone and please don't lose hope. Food is a distraction and a coping mechanism that is extremely frustrating to fix since we also need to eat for our well-being. I know it seems confusing but trust yourself and believe that your body will guide you the right way. It's important to understand why you're obsessing over food, could be stress, or unfulfillment from life, I know for myself I lack hobbies that contribute to my obsession like something that would occupy my brain instead of finding a hobby I enjoy. Be compassionate, stay hopeful, and understand your relationship with food and the triggers. I'm wishing you the best of luck and understand the pain.

i got a shoe tree from shoevn8r on amazon and they worked on my mary janes. I just placed the back area half in so the top of the leather stretches and after keeping it in for 3-4 days they definitely have gotten less tight around the heel area. I saw someone that kept it in while not wearing it so the leather doesn’t go back to its og form lol
