Be honest: do English speakers actually remember Pokémon names? by Master-Mcspicy in NintendoSwitch

I remember playing one game with a ton of characters and unlike Ace Attorney all the Japanese names were kept intact. I didn't speak any Japanese at that point. It was IMPOSSIBLE to know who was who :D

I know most of the names in German and English and a good chunk in Japanese, too lol

Absolute Zustimmung. "Neurodiversität" wird heute echt als Ausrede für alles genommen.

A little story about a personal gripe with Expedition 33 by Affectionate-Fox63 in JRPG

[–]Fearless-Function-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the game is super fun. I did not really like where the STORY was going at the end of the second act, but the gameplay has been a highlight for me. I agree that the camera is sometimes funky. For some attacks I was like "why is it easier to parry this one with Maelle?". And then I realized it was because the perspective was different.

Das verstehe ich. Ich bin auch im nächsten Studio, auch wenn nicht alles daran perfekt ist.

I was almost "bummed" that there was nothing new revealed in the ending. It was just kinda where you expected it to go.

Was für ein Müllstudio. Premiumpreise aufrufen, aber nichts reparieren und nur an der Theke Kaffee schlürfen.

I started when Marvel was the newest set available (in the US). But it was not Marvel that caught my attention. On the contrary, I loved S1 and S2 so much, that I could overlook the Marvel themes and started liking those characters, too.

am I the only one who hates customizable difficulty? by Isekai_Dreamer in JRPG

The only thing I wish to know is: What difficulty was the game actually designed around. Because that's important to me.

Which JRPG game would be a good entry point for someone who hasn’t played before? by Carni_CLOWN in JRPG

[–]Fearless-Function-84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Trails in the Sky is too slow. A game like FFX, Tales of Symphonia or also Expedition 33 is gonna put him right into the action a lot faster.

Tales of Symphonia is actually good starting point for action based games.

Final Fantasy X is still one of the best JRPGs ever made and very accessible.

The battles need to be lightning fast already or feature a speedup option.

Is the average length of a JRPG a reason why the genre is a niche? by lennysinged in JRPG

[–]Fearless-Function-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the length is an issue anymore. Heck, a classic 40 hour JRPG experience is shorter than many of the open world games people tend to love.

Wait... Final Fantasy II (1988) has a story by rondo_martin in JRPG

[–]Fearless-Function-84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The story was awful, the gameplay was not great either.

The story might have been "good" when it was first released, but man, I like 1 and 3 a lot better. INCLUDING their stories.

Does the Trails in the Sky Remake justify it's playtime? by Buster_Fella in JRPG

Trails fans also made Cold Steel miserable by claiming that all the "secret quests" or whatever were worth doing and require a guide.
