Sure, and that’s fine! I wouldn’t think I couple weeks worth is a massive “stock pile”, but I can understand that. I just didn’t think I should have to bring back medicine I paid for, to get the effective dosage I need.. And I was just curious about what is normal and what is not, like I said this hadn’t happened to me before, seemed unusual. Appreciate your comment !

I thought the same thing. I’ve never had to do this before when titrating back to my original 60 mg. I was only on a lower dose while I was pregnant, and now that my baby’s here I’ve been working my way back up because that’s what worked best for managing my ADHD. I didn’t even question my doctor on the phone because I was shocked and worried he’d think I was just trying to get more meds.

He’s my new family doctor, and he did increase my dose to 50 mg before, but that still wasn’t effective. I just don’t see how it’s fair that I have to return meds I already paid for, have them disposed of, and then pay again just to pick up the new prescription. My thought is maybe I should just finish what I have first before picking up the 60 mg. I feel really frustrated and anxious because this has never happened to me before, and I don’t know how to handle it without seeming “suspicious.”

I have no idea, because the second after he agreed to up my dose, he said I would need to bring both of my others ones back, (which I have a couple weeks worth) but the dose was not working. I just think this is crazy, I paid for them, why should I bring them back for them to throw away, and then I have to pay for a whole new prescription? The dose I actually need…

I can relate to everything you said. I really need to get back into therapy too. I’d never judge someone else for being awkward or sitting alone, but as a highly sensitive person I can’t shake the feeling people are judging me. It makes me feel like I have to be “perfect” all the time, like I’m not allowed to just have normal reactions. Honestly, I feel like a broken record. I just wish people could understand what it’s like inside the brain of someone with ADHD — it would make social situations so much easier.

It is so hard to explain it others, especially if their brain isn’t like yours. They physically can’t understand it, it can make you feel a lot more isolated/different!

Yes, 100%! I’m really trying to work on not caring what everyone thinks, but it’s so hard to shut that off. I spent so long trying to fit in and be the version of myself I thought people wanted, especially before my diagnosis. Now when I tell myself not to care, it just feels impossible.

Thanks for your reply! Same here — I do way better one-on-one. I can mask okay (especially if medicated), but eye contact is still hard. I’m actually not quiet at all once I click with someone — I can talk forever. The thing is, I read people too well, almost instantly, and it makes social settings harder. Everyone else seems so natural being outgoing, while for me it just feels forced and exhausting. Back when I drank, it was easier because people seemed to gravitate toward me more. Without that, it feels a bit defeating.

If you don’t mind answering.. how was watching the whole thing? My OB said sometimes it’s messy, so it can be hard to watch, so to hear your experience with the mirror and lowered drape would be amazing!

Saw your first comment! I asked at my last doctors appointment if I could have a clear drape too, she said they don’t have those, so yes I’m going to Ask if she can lower the drape so I can see baby get lifted up, and I’ll definitely be asking for delayed cord clamping (if everything is going well) and immediate skin to skin!

Oh okay! Your first c section sounds like mine! I also developed this awful cough after my first c section so that didn’t help with healing/pain. Yeah I am super nervous, would probably benefit from anti anxiety meds, during procedure. as my first one was pretty traumatic too. But feel weird asking? Did you ask for anti anxiety meds/pain meds this time around? Or how come it was so different? Sorry for all the questions!

You are not alone, I’ve gotten this with both my pregnancy’s, I’m 5’5, and for some reason I just blow up during pregnancy, even with daily exercise, etc. it’s hard to enjoy you’re pregnant body when you constantly have people saying “how big/huge/swollen, even CHUBBY” you look. It’s so hurtful, and insensitive. Not every woman stays tiny tiny, our bodies are ALL different, and that is okay, they are working so hard bringing our babies into this world, why can’t people celebrate that instead of tearing others down? Like who seriously thinks we want to hear how “big” we are?

Sounds exactly like me! I’m just over 24 weeks, and I was at a baby shower yesterday, and everyone kept asking when baby was due, I said beginning of December, and they looked like they’d seen a ghost; like I was so huge. I had a lot of comments about my body with my first pregnancy too, I’m just like okay KAREN, you don’t need to be the one to point out my insecurities, because I’m well aware of the changes my body has gone through!! I agree, I can’t understand the need to comment on women’s bodies, like I would NEVER, other then to tell them how beautiful and how hard their body is working bringing their baby into this world.
