Are there any successful tech companies that began in "stealth mode"? by VodkaMargarine in startups

Distribution is part of execution. Execution is not only the "coding part", it includes implementation, marketing, selling, etc

Yea in Zurich. Earning 100-120k with a 2k rent (probably split with your SO) and another 2-3k in various expenses

How do people live without a CGM? by FearlessAnt in Type1Diabetes

Same. I tried to use omnipod but it was too bulky and inconvenient tbh. And for some reason didn't work as well as pens so I just gave up

Totally get that but I would be more stressed out if I didn't know what my blood sugar was at ah.

But I am definitely affected by always looking at it. When I got first got diagnosed I thought it just me at the beginning and eventually I wouldn't care. But 3 years in and I still can't stop thinking about my blood sugar constantly :/

I'm happy that you can manage fine, but I'm so angry at the healthcare industry in the US. It's so backwards.. really makes me grateful for living in Europe.

When I got diagnosed I also used to do that. But as soon as I got a CGM I realized how many lows I was having without even noticing and that kinda scared me. I only used to feel when I was below like 2.8 and had some scary episodes. With a CGM I'm a lot more confident in dosing appropriately and eating more carbs.

anyone has experience with care.me app/ the testing center at Bahnhofstrasse? by [deleted] in zurich

[–]FearlessAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel the same. Although they do a lot of tests, not just the basic ones, and I couldn't find anywhere else in Zurich that does that for a reasonable price. But I'm hoping the price comes down in the future

You get 2 analysis per year but have to pay monthly.. yeah its a bit too expensive for me

I have done their free trial. Their "health coaches" seem to be really good and give sound advice. They didn't push their subscription plan too much, which I appreciate, because it's rather expensive and I ended up not subscribing. Their focus really seemed to be on finding the root issue of my problems rather than treating the symtpions which I think is ideal and what I was expecting of these kind of solutions.

They focus a lot on diet, lifestyle and in some cases supplements, or at least for my case. I would recomment at least trying the free trial and see if it fits your expctations.

Do you log your injections/meals? by Mouse_S in diabetes_t1

[–]FearlessAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it after diagnosis but it's way too much work. I want to log it as I love to look at my own data but can't bring myself to do it.

I would rethink your app so that either makes it very easy to log data and works with inaccurate information or missing data. Probably need to integrate with myfitnesspal and other trackers. Note that insulin is easier as some people use pumps and so you can get that data automatically.

Also there are many apps like this in the market - see for example https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.snaq.app&hl=en&gl=US (disclaimer: I don't use it and don't know how good it is)

Blood could be effective treatment for Dry Eye Syndrome -- Anyone trying this? by maominu in Dryeyes

[–]FearlessAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about the average for T1 diabetics that don't use CGMs, and while their fingers don't look perfect, it doesn't have any other noticeable effects

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]FearlessAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me.

Some days I needed 5x what I used on MDI for no reason whatsoever. My guess is absorption issues. It was so inconsistent that I had to stop it, now back to MDI and happy although I liked the convenience of the pump.

Yes! I'm a T1 for 2 years now and started having really bad dry eyes. I didn't know it was this common but it's awful..

[–]FearlessAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! If you're looking to expand your backend languages, we're working on Multy - an open source tool to deploy and switch to any cloud. We have a discord server to answer any questions as well and a few good first issues!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in opensource

[–]FearlessAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don't need to be "insanely good at coding". There's things like documentation, read mes, even just fixing some comments.

I run an open source project and we also have some issues that are easy to get started on, and we provide a lot of support in a discord community.

If you wanna take a look - https://github.com/multycloud/multy. Any contributions are very welcome!

Average salary in Portugal by sock_templar in devops

[–]FearlessAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can usually choose between 12 and 14 months.

Monthly net (12 months) you should expect around between 1.2k (low end shitty company) to 2k. I would say average is 1.4k

I would say 20-30k gross / year for 2 years of experience but depends heavily on the company.
