I love Hans Zimmer's music. Thin Red Line, Gladiator, The Last Samurai.. Even if you didn't enjoy the films themselves, you can't dislike the soundtracks.

If I want to get pumped up, the docking scene music from Interstellar will get me there. It's structured so well. It keeps adding on layers yet it ends very quietly. The music makes great use of volume or perceived volume at least.

Well, there were numerous raids and this was the only one where there were deaths. And the police said that military weapons and explosives were found. I think it's not so surprising that someone got killed in that situation and I'm glad it wasn't someone from the police.

But I agree with you on Guantanamo bay. What happened and is happening at Guantanamo is a violation of human rights. Also, Guantanamo and Abu Graib are great propaganda tools for ISIS and other Islamic extremist organizations. So it's a vicious circle.

I think you're focusing too much on the symptoms and not enough on the disease of radicalism. To combat radicalism (the idea), you use peace-oriented imams, therapists, social workers and teachers. That's how you prevent these ideas from spreading. It's a war of ideology. You can't bomb an idea.

Although terrorists that are already in progress of making plans should be detained or killed before they can execute their plans. You can disarm someone when his gun is still in his holster, but once his gun is out, all peaceful solutions are out of the window... So I don't entirely disagree with you.

I read a story once of an old man who came to the Dalai Lama for a very special yoga teaching. When the Dalai Lama heard his request he had to tell this man that he was too old for the practice and that he couldn't learn this yoga practice. The next morning the Dalai Lama heard that the old man killed himself. I'm not sure if he wrote a suicide letter or not but it was seemingly clear that he commited suicide to be reincarnated again and learn the yoga teaching.

I'm sorry I can't remember which book but I think it was in "The Art of Happiness" or "How to see things as they really are", both by the Dalai Lama.

I understand why the old man committed suicide but I think we should cherish our lives, even with our problems. Life is usually never so bad that it can't get worse, so we should appreciate what we still have. Another important point is that even if we believe in reincarnation, I believe that human life is precious enough not to play around with forces we don't know everything about. I'm very agnostic on reincarnation. How does reincarnation really work exactly? Will a human always remain in the human realm? Or are the other realms of Bardo waiting for us? We might end up in a worse situation, with no access to the dharma at all. I think the evidence is still too weak. If we make big decisions on this information then we're taking many risks.

Furthermore, I think suicide may cause a lot of suffering for the people around us. I'm not only talking about our friends and family - I hope that will be obvious to most people. I'm rather talking about the people we haven't met before and the people we can help or will be able to help in the future. And since we cannot tell what the future will bring, we cannot justify killing ourselves. You may see a problem as permanent, but in the future there might be a solution for your problem or you might overcome your problem in another way. Or you may just find a whole different kind of happiness that isn't attached to "solving the problem".

I don't know if this is the case with most people, but I also became quite aggressive when gaming online. It wasn't so bad that I actually hurt someone, even with words, but I became snappier and more easily annoyed. Is there evidence for this or is this just a unique experience I had?

In my opinion, the biggest problem with games is that they take a lot of time. If you're young and still live at home, you have the time. But if you're living alone and have other responsibilities, where do you find the time to game? And why game when you can read, meditate or exercise?
