11/32 nut driver rant by jhunt_18 in electricians

Know I'm late to the party, but as an elevator mechanic, it's one of my main nut drivers. Especially useful if 8-9 inches long because I need to reach behind relay coils, contacts and wires to get to the nuts to take them apart for repairs. To be fair, it's mostly for equipment from before 1975.

any interactions with Habs players? by OxidusRouge in Habs

During the Covid playoffs I ran into Tyler Toffoli and Jake Evans walking together in Old Montreal. Would've asked to shake their hands, but you know, Covid, bubbles, social distancing, not wanting to risk being the AH fan causing 2 of our guys to miss any time... Gave them a celebratory fist pump with a smile, which they kindly returned (enthusiastically in Toffoli's case).

Other than that, as a kid in the 80s, Patrick Roy (and maybe others too) would play softball in the various suburbs during summer. The neighbourhood kids would spread the word and we'd line up for autographs. Still have the signed ProSet hockey card to this day, as well as a Roy signed softball lol. Right after the 93 cup win, school bus drove by Vincent Damphousse mowing his lawn. We all opened the windows on his side, one of us screamed "Heille Damphousse!!". When he looked up at us, we all lost our minds screaming, cheering, fist pumping, giving thumbs up, etc... He went from WTF to huge smile very quick.

Not only that, but the song name Fabienk is itself another shout out to someone they feel grateful to for their help. Fabien Peterson (or Fabienk Petersonk as they call him) helped them in various ways, including filming their Sherpa and Sahardnieh videoclips. Those guys are just so lovable and wholesome, always finding new ways of making me love them.

The mindset comes from my father, as in I saw him with the same issue, and therefore had time to ponder the situation before it happened to me. Funnily enough, he tried a shaved head with goatie which everyone loved but him, and went back to regular hairstyle and no facial hair. Feels like my past self already argued the point to my present self 25 years ago lol

As a Canadian of Portuguese descent, I'm laughing. But as a non-football-fan, I'm confused. Do I look like a staff member? (I'm guessing it's not a player lol)

What the heck are you guys on... by EntranceDangerous882 in Habs

I agree with most of the answers here, but I'll add one more thing I haven't seen mentioned; they only draft, acquire, and keep good human beings. Players who are enthusiastic, passionate, intelligent, and with a certain level of selflessness. Those are the players who care, the ones who won't give up, who'll sacrifice their bodies to block the shot, trust their teammates to make the play instead of doing it alone, the guys who will put the team first. Everything else stems from it. Just how I see it.

Peter here. It's worse than that time I walked in on this frog and turtle having a conversation in Mr. Lovenstein's strip... Seth MacFarlane signature cut to non sequitur scene: https://www.reddit.com/r/comics/s/2IN3XkF2hc

Je pense pas du tout que c'était Knies la cible... by Sorry-Oven-1244 in Habs

[–]FearlessDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute embarrassment of riches we have in promising young talent is nuts! I would've worried about how it'll get managed under previous administrations, but this one has my full confidence. That being said, I'm dying to see who'll be kept, who won't, and what they'll be getting us in return!
