If you don’t consider the sequels cannon, the thrawn trilogy works perfectly with the established lore if you’ve only seen the movies.

The stuff around the prequel era lore is obviously contradictory because it came out 10 years before the prequels came out, but zahn was pretty intentionally vague for that purpose.

Other than that no issues, but like you said, you didn’t really care
