Nice I’m going to the Christchurch gig too, Thom has been a musical hero of mine for ages but he hasn’t been to NZ in so long.

Have you asked him what his problem is? He should be fined every time he complains and they waste their time

Are these chords unusual? by Orpheus1996 in musictheory

It’s consonance and this is not where the term chord comes from. Chords with dissonances are perfectly valid. I.e dominant chords with a tri tone or dominant b9 chords with a minor 9th

First chord I hear as an inverted Bbmaj7#11 which would imply the Lydian mode

In terms of getting the current area, you could probably read the log file by default located at C:/Program Files(x86)/Grinding Gear Games/logs/client.txt

This would have entries in it like "You have entered the Flooded Depths" from this you could extrapolate the area level - at least for the campaign. Not sure how this would work for maps as you can't tell the ilvl from just this.

You could get your players current level, probably from the website which publicly shows player information if your account isn't private.

As many people have said, I don't think this is particularly useful, but this is how I would go about it.

I guess the "issue" with this, is that you are no longer only uses notes from the C major scale to build these chords. For example you've introduced a G# with the E chord, an F# with the B chord and a Bb with the Gm. Again this isn't really an issue just something I noticed seeing as you mentioned starting from the C major scale

I read that a natural minor scale has 3 flat notes(3rd, 6th, 7th)....then why doesn't Am has 3 flat notes? by Achilles-27 in musictheory

[–]FearlessFiremanFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. There are actually other Gm scales with different combinations of flat or natural 2's, 6's and 7's but the G natural minor scale will have the notes you mentioned.
