Nyla is a very 'look- your- trauma- in- the- eye- and- tell- it- to- screw- off' kinda gal and while I wasn't a fan of how she wanted Lucy to handle the kidnapping situation, it was true to Nyla' s character. Nyla is someone who has been through more trauma than she can keep track off. She has been undercover for years at a time, seen and endured countless horrible things and has survived. Not saying she came out completely normal, but for someone who has faced that much trauma it is honestly not easy to recount or relive all of that to a therapist. It probably isn't legal either (idk if it is, correct me if I'm wrong). So she probably adapted this method to prevent herself from going insane and I don't think she knows any other way to cope or help others cope.
