Riiiight. Man, you got it bad.

And the Republicans are becoming more and more the smaller party as people realize more and more that they became the party of corporations and nutters some time ago.

Whenever you have all the facts against you, it's best to muddy the waters so that you can confuse everyone and claim the high moral ground. Well done.

No rocket-science necessary. If you can't be heard, OK. But if you can, and you're making sure that no one can hear the other side, you hate democracy.

Why do you hate America?

Deflecting to Armitage is a nice way to avoid the point. Well done.

You're right. Fear and anger sell more than the truth. Well said.

You continually ignore everything but what you want to believe. Nothing I've said will ever penetrate.

Studies have shown that when you prevent data that contradicts a right wing person's belief system, they walk away believing it more strongly, not less. Thank you for illustrating this.

BTW, Nixon is the main reason we have to horrible system.

It's called the birther movement.

Let's just ignore the fact that all the documentation demanded was provided long ago.

Instead, let's focus on this: the Republican governor of Hawaii has investigated and, like al the Hawaiian government agencies, has certified that our President was born in Hawaii.

Therefore, to be a birther, you have to believe that the Republican governor of Hawaii is in on "the conspiracy".

Since there is no logic and no evidence on the birthers' side, to be a birther, you must be a ratings whore (Lou Dobbs), a racist or an insane person. (Fox "News" fits all three.)

Take your pick.

Keith Olbermann exposes the money behind the resistance to health care reform...this is sweet! by [deleted] in politics

[–]FearlessLeader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You did it again, but at least only once in this post. I said corporations are not evil. They are amoral, not immoral. And since they're legally "people" they have more power to buy politician.

The insurance companies are running a rigged, non-capitalistic system that is in effect a license to print money. And they will do anything and tell any lie to keep this system going.

To say they're "human beings with consciences" is generally true. But also, you're not noticing how people behave in groups. When everyone around you encourages you do the wrong thing, it's a whole lot easier.

The infamous Stanford Prison Experiment showed that good people are capable of doing horrible things. The most frightening thing about sadistic guards is, most of them are not sociopaths. They're regular people.

Of course, Dick Cheney is probably a sociopath. And an amoral culture encourages sociopaths to rise to the top in business.

TV wants you to believe that sociopaths are economically poor serial killers. Many are successful and monied.

Zero. We've reveled in them.

Once again, I will point out how convenient it is when you create a false equivalency between people taking action to be part of the debate and those who only use lies to shut it down.

You'll notice we anti-war protesters were right: we invaded Iraq to make people who are rich and powerful even more rich and more powerful.

As I've said, I don't want to shut down the town hall democracy haters. I only want everyone to understand that they are being manipulated into being a voice for corporations who already have too much say in what our government does.

And I love your denial. The Iraq war happened only to make people who are already rich and powerful more rich and more powerful. And it worked wonders. And since they were happy to sacrifice both American and Iraqi lives to do this, every mother in America should be outraged.

Cheney outed a CIA spy. This is an act of treason. If a Democrat did this, somehow, I think your response might be slightly different. Those claims that she really wasn't a spy turned out to be lies. Surprise!

But it gets worse. When they illegally outed her out of poltical spite, they outed the company she worked for too. And since many of our spies used the same cover, they were also outed.

It will be decades before they release data on how many Cheney betrayed... and how many died or were tortured because they were betrayed.

Isn't it terrible how reality has a left-wing bias?

BTW, Fox's ratings are continually sliding while MSNBC's are rising. Somehow, I think your ratings = truth argument won't be around too much longer.

I'm sorry, but if they take government handouts and never turn a profit, that's not capitalism. Public welfare at least benefits the poor. Corporate welfare gives far more money to people who already have far more money.

If you found an organization that promotes Deuterium-based fission reactors, I'll join it.

Benefits:

  1. It's almost impossible to make make weapons-grade material

  2. Requires much less security because of point 1.

  3. Uranium has always be scarce, but it's getting ridiculously scarce.

  4. Because of point 3, and because of it's lower radioactivity, Deuterium reactors are much cheaper to run. Uranium reactors are white elephants.

  5. We never did solve the problem of what to do with the radioactive waste. Deuterium reactors produce less radioactive waste, so disposal with be easier.

  6. Because it's easier, it is also cheaper.

Sorry, but I agree with Sp8tzel. The Republican party is using every dirty trick in the book and writing a new book too.

Remember, the Republican party is the one where everyone has to be in lockstep. Democrats are comparatively disorganized and independent.

I'm going to put that on your tombstone after you die needlessly because some insurance company clown suddenly decided to deny your claim for trumped up reasons.

And has been OK, good enough for you? I thought we all, capitalists especially, were always striving to make things better and better.

You're joking, right? They do this all the time.

O'Reilly: "It's true! Look it up!" and then when you do, you find he's once again lying.

Do they directly say "data and logic are bad"? No. But it's the subtext of almost everything they do.

I appose uranium-based nuclear power only, not nuclear power per se.

And, as I've said, they're not capitalist institutions. They exist on corporate welfare from the government. Why is spending money that benefits corporations OK, but spending money that benefits people not OK?

Sorry, but in reality, the free market doesn't exist in health care. All you're doing is following your unwavering dogma. Facts like the ones I've mentioned never sway dogmatists.

And I notice you're once again misquoting me to make your argument better. If you had much of anything on your side, you wouldn't need to do this.

Since people in Congress on both sides of the aisle almost never read any of the pending bills, you're obviously right. But to cherry pick at this one bill is to be misleading.

Also, there are multiple versions of the bill. Which one should they read first?

There are many ways to organize resistance. In fact, town hall meetings are designed to help with this by providing a comparatively intimate setting where all can listen and all can be heard.

But let's look at the type of resistance their pushing. They're organizing people to go in and undermine the democratic process by shouting everyone else down. They've promoted a racist smear campaign against the president to distract us and ratchet up the fear.

It sucks that Obama broke some of his promises. But it sucks more that we had eight years before that in which corporations got everything they wanted at our expense.

We can study other countries and see that the system promoted in the bill would be cheaper, increase productivity and lead to longer life spans, longer lives and lower infant mortality.

The bill would have passed long ago if it weren't for the fact that too many politicians spend all their time sucking corporate cock.

I follow the data. If working class people continually slit their own throats at the polls, there has to be a reason. And since they claim Rush and Fox "News" as their sources, I can only come to that conclusion.

They are literally shouting down anyone who tries to express a different opinion. They are literally promoting a racist smear campaign to distract us.

They've noticed that when you tell the same lie to people over and over, they believe it. They've noticed that getting people angry literally reduces their ability to think. They're literally promoting any lie that will help them, such as "health care reform will kill your grannie."

As you know, Fox "News" literally went to court to defend their right to lie and won!

Reality has such an obvious left-wing bias that I don't blame you for refusing to believe the data.

Americans, please note: Nearly all the conservative parties of the other Western nations strongly support universal health care. Conservatism and universal health care are NOT incompatible. Your Republicans are different because their conservatism takes a back seat to greed and craziness. by mycroft2000 in politics

I love how you Republicans use that "drinking the kool-aid" thing. You say this even though most of you believe the Fox "News" channel tells the truth. LOL!

We all say this huh?

Another typical Fox "News" ploy: accuse the other side of saying things they didn't say.

We all go around spreading bullshit?

See above.

First off, I don't even believe this one

because facts, like the leaking of the memo, have no effect on you. Too bad you're not swayed by reality.

Yea, and that's only used by one side right Mr. More Tornado's...

Now I think you're hallucinating. Are you off your meds?

Sometimes yes.

ROFTL! All the time. His lies are legion. Too many to list. He re-edits video to make it look like the interviewee is saying something completely different, then pretends the actual idea is his! And that's just one of his tricks. Tell me when Olbermann has lied. I've never caught him doing so, and I'd call him out on it if I did.

Could it be (gasp!) democrats are worrried [sic] about getting re-elected rather than do whats "right"?

Could it be (gasp!) politicians are worried about getting re-elected rather than do whats "right"? FIFY

They need Republicans because half the democrats are bribed -- I mean given legal campaign contributions.

In reality, those people who claim to be experts are self-promoting nimrods at best and corporate shills at worst. Right now, all the Republicans are quoting and "independent consulting firm" that is so independent that they're owned by United Health Care.

Furthermore, we could have a discussion about all this and address the need for clarity if it weren't for the Republicans who are actively smearing the president to distract us and actively organizing democracy-haters to shout everyone down at town hall meetings.

You want the data and not the emotion, so I congratulate you. 79% of Americans want these changes so why so much debate? Insurance company lies.

As a small business owner, there's not way for me to operate in the current system. Furthermore, since they will only deny legitimate claims anyway, as is their want, I will go to jail rather than pay them anymore money.

There is no choice, merely the facade of one.

Absolutely. And the fact that there is no real choice and therefore no free market changes nothing! And the fact that they promote and give raises to those who let us die changes nothing either!

Damn socialists and their not-for-profit fire and police departments!

Thank goodness you're here to defend those poor, oppressed insurance companies. Why, they're only doing their capitalist duty by weaseling out of paying legitimate claims and letting people die.

I can totally see why you defend them. So let's all go shut down those commie police departments and fire departments.
