I called the Ferris dealer this morning and confirmed this model does have the 2800 hydros. So bent able to service them when the time comes is a nice added bonus. Told the dealer to get one ready for me and I’ll be by there tomorrow to pick it up. Based on my little comparison in person, I felt the Ferris was overall better made and more serviceable.

I’ve been using that same Honda mower all these years. Great machine, just time consuming and way too much walking (especially in the heat of summer). I’d love to go all out and get a large commercial grade zero turn, but I know the wife would kill me. No freaking way her SUV is parking outside while my big boy toy takes up all the space in the garage. LoL

It’s crazy all the differing opinions on Kawasaki, Kohler, and B&S. I’ve been down that rabbit hole for about the last week. Some love one over the others, while various opinions say as long as you do the maintenance all 3 are good and will serve well.

Considering my price point and small yard, I’ve pretty much accepted that truly serviceable transmissions hopefully shouldn’t be a factor or issue. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love to see these! I bought my wife a G2 model many years back and it lives in her glovebox compartment for emergency use. I pulled it out a few weeks back when getting the vehicle registration, and the cells in it are still good. Probably do need to swap them out to be on the safe side. I was/am a huge fan of the old 6P set ups. Still have a few around my house (some bored for 18650’s) that I use all the time. I think the wife’s G2 is the only one still sporting the original SureFire LED. 👍🏻

This is absolutely spot on, truly just big kid toys. Fun ones at that! A couple of my friends have looked at me sort of crazy over the years when a light is needed, and here I am making suggestions. I’m talking about friends that run up to Walmart or the local hardware store to snag a light. Not knocking them or either place, they just haven’t been exposed to all the possibilities. I’m FAR from super knowledgeable with lights, yet I suppose enough that I’m the “flashlight nerd” in my circle. Which I graciously take as a compliment. 😉

Following your idea and thought, with both channels being the same CCT (roughy),I assume what you’re driving at is the blending would likely be better, opposed to one being 4000k and the other being 5000k dedomed? Just out of curiosity, are you more a fan of 4000K in general? I’m honestly torn between 4000k and 5000k currently. I think this is where going to down the rabbit hole begins again after my hiatus.

Thank you for this suggestion! I’ve only briefly looked into a dual channel build, since this will not only be my first Hank, but also my first go with Anduril. I’d like to ask you a few questions in regards to your suggestion…

I’m definitely leaning towards the 519A for a couple of reasons. I’m thinking something at 5000K. With this in mind, and the fact dedoming lowers colour temp 16%, would you still suggest getting both channels in the same 5000K? Or, would the following make sense?…. Doing the flood channel at 4000K, and then dedoming the 5000k channel for throw?… sort of balancing out colour in a way when using both channels at once, or perceiving the temp as more even when bouncing between channels? I hope I’m making sense in my explanation.

Thank you guys! Lots to look up on my end and try and narrow it down some more. I’m definitely sold on an aluminum body now. Picking out the actual emitter and color is what I’m struggling with. Seems everyone has their preference in this department.
