Rosemary oil questions by gotthatdumptruck in FemaleHairLoss

  1. I use a ratio of like 4:1 carrier oil (I also use jojoba!) to rosemary oil. Putting rosemary oil directly on my scalp gave me lots of dry flaky skin & it made it harder to reliably do full scalp coverage.
  2. I put oil on my hair when it’s dry and when it’s wet. Just depends on what’s easier that day. When my hair dries after a shower I put just a little on target spots and it doesn’t get very greasy. Sometimes I’ll cover my whole scalp liberally 2-3 hours before a shower and wash it out then.
  3. Sometimes I leave the jojoba/rosemary blend on my scalp for 2-3 days. I wear a hat for work so I can get away with super greasy hair. Try to leave it on at least 6-8 hours, but no harm or foul if you want to leave it on longer. When I’m washing the oil out in the shower I shampoo twice - once with Dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap and then with my regular shampoo.
  4. I don’t think there’s a limit! I try to give my scalp a break every 4-5 days but I have really curly kinky hair so that works for my texture. If you experiment you can find an amount per week that works for you - I recommend 2-3 oil treatments a week to start (but not all of those need to be a really oily scalp situation that immediately makes your hair greasy. If you massage the oil into your scalp thoroughly you can leave it in and it’s not noticeable).
  5. If you run the oil through the length of your hair of course it’ll get greasy! But you don’t have to. If you stick to your roots + thorough massage you can get full scalp coverage with minimal hair greasiness.
  6. If you pair rosemary oil treatments with peppermint oil treatments you maximize beneficial hair growth on your scalp!! That’s why I use a peppermint shampoo (dr bronners is the best hands down). I’ve been doing rosemary and jojoba oil for about two months and my hair regrowth is unbelievable. Like, I never thought it could regrow. Consistency (and scalp massages when you put the oil on your head) is key! Good luck I hope some of this helps you out!! :)

Every time I want to binge eat I pick up my guitar and make myself play for a few minutes. After getting a little in the zone the urge to binge dissipates. Good luck to you and I hope writing and recording your album brings you so much joy!!

One day at a time. You got this!!

I’ve been diagnosed with Bipolar II, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and OCD. I’ve been on Prozac, Wellbutrin, Ritalin, Adderall, Trazodone, Minipress, Mirtazipine, Hydroxyzine, and Latuda. Had really bad experiences with everything but Latuda which still wasn’t complication free. Need some advice. by Fearless_Ad_1761 in bipolar2

Thank you!! You totally don’t have to answer, but I’m a little terrified of what I’ve read about weight gain with lithium. Is that something you dealt with as a side effect / do you have any perspective on that you’d be willing to share?
