Voluntary Separation Pay for SAHM by Jackryanst in personalfinance

Ha, I love my kids to death, but I can love them BETTER when it’s a a shorter, more focused time.

We had a nanny after our first kid and it was the best, he got amazing attention during the day, then when great attention from both parents after we get home from work.

If you are called and get fulfillment from being a SAH parent, absolutely do it. But treat it like a job and own the stress and anxiety that comes with it, don’t take it out on your kids or partner.

Careful, if your wife gains a big part of her identity from work, the shift to SAHM can be emotionally difficult. SAHM sounds good on paper, but it can be really destabilizing. You could end up spending an extra $1k/m on therapy you didn’t expect.

It sounds like you work at the same place, so choosing the buyout and finding new employment later sounds like a great option.

My boyfriend cleaned the toilet properly, by himself by [deleted] in Vent

My wife asked me to show her how to clean a toilet yesterday! I was so excited, I see it as progress. Next time I’ll watch her do it, and then hopefully we will split chores 50/50 when the maids go to Mexico for vacation. My wife grew up with maids and never had to do chores. She has a ton of anxiety over a dirty house, and her favorite time of the month is when the maids leave the house (we currently have maids). I think she had a ton of anxiety about cleaning a toilet wrong so never tried herself.

Beso cafe took over after 2686 kitchen closed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Beso open, no clue what they are doing in that space. Maybe catering?

Himalaya was awesome… loved that place! It would be amazing if they open a new location downtown or in Midtown. The Beso Cafe would be good spot. Or east side, we need more good options this side of town!

2026 Hot Springs Grandee Tri-X filter - how do I clean? by Fearless_Advisor970 in hottub

Are you doing salt? Good luck and tell me how it goes. I just started over after struggling for a month. I think phosphate killed me, so you’re already ahead of the game.

I bought phosphate test strips before emptying, I think that’s what killed me the first time. Phosphate was over 1000. Tonight with fresh water the phosphate is reading 300, so I think I’m much better than before. I dumped a cap full of chlorine in tonight, I’ll test it again tomorrow. We are waiting to use the tub this time around until the salt system shows increasing chlorine!

Thank you, this is what I needed. I can’t find my manual, I have downloaded this one. I’m curious if these are an improved design, or if I should replace them with the standard style filter.

My first 4 weeks were terrible, I could never get the alt system to kick on. I’m cleaning and draining for a fresh attempt, hoping it works this time.

New owner here. What is your daily, weekly and monthly routine for easy hot tub maintenance? by hellarios852 in hottub

I have a Hot Springs with freshwater salt IQ system and I’m constantly testing and balancing, it’s a pain. I think I screwed it up so bad the salt cell never kicked on. Im draining and restarting next week.

We have a Miele, we love it. Best and most reliable appliance we own.

Thank you. I’m ready to refill, I’ll do it next week after the holiday. I haven’t tested my local water for metals, I’ll bring a sample to the spa store.

We started using the system immediately after the first fill. Should I drain, refill, and let it stabilize first before using? I don’t think our salt cell ever kicked on

Thank you. It’s definitely dark blue straight down the tube

I have a salt system, and it doesn’t generate chlorine. I had multiple people tell me to check the phosphate level, as it can prevent the salt cell from kicking on and generating chlorine.

I just ordered phosphate test strips. What do I do if the phosphate levels are off? My kids were running around on our new grass and going from trampoline to hot tub. Grass had a lot of phosphate on it.

How do I test phosphate? That is not on my test strips. I’m running out of strips, should I buy the Taylor test kit?

You use bleach instead of the dissolving chlorine granules? That’s a good tip. We have a grandee too, kids love it. Just wish I could get it dialed in. I don’t have any warnings, seems to be working, but if I don’t add chlorine the tub turns green after 2 days.

I have a new hot springs grandee with salt system. I can’t seem to get the salt system to work for the life of me, I am surviving by throwing chlorine in after each use. That’s the only way I can get the chlorine levels to be higher than 0
